Cindy McCain’s Pride In America

Watching that commercial from the GOP about Michelle Obama saying that “this is the first time in her adult life that she has actually been proud of her country” is just disturbing the hell out of me. I was thinking about it and it is just plain pathetic. It is as if a lot of people in the white community actually think that they and blacks have had the same experience in this country. Then McCain’s wife Cindy had the nerve to proclaim SHE is proud of her country. Of course she is. What does either of those two blind to the disparity and hypocrisy in America have to NOT be proud of?

Michelle Obama has to look at the news and see stories such as fourteen year old Martin Lee Anderson who was murdered when he was beaten, kicked and had ammonia tablets forced up his nose while his mouth was being covered by boot camp guards, all which was caught on tape. And then the autopsy on his body was performed by someone from the dominant community who said his death was a result of a latent cycle cell trait. When was the last time that Cindy McCain looked at the news to see that a fourteen year old Susan LeAnn McCaskey (fictional white character) was murdered when she was beaten, kicked and suffocated then read that the girl died from a latent breast cancer trait?

Michelle Obama also can look in the newspaper and see stories of unarmed black men like Amadou Diallo who was standing next to his building when cops approached him and asked for drugs. They claim that he loudly protested that he was NOT a drug dealer and the cops fearing his loud voice shot him forty one times. And every time this happens, which is plenty; the murder is referred to as contagious shooting. When was the last time Cindy McCain looked at a newspaper or watched the news and had to see any unarmed white man being shot over thirty times as a result of contagious shooting?

Michelle Obama can look at the news and see a story about how the wage gap between blacks and whites is growing NOT shrinking. And black people have fifty percent higher unemployment rates than whites. Or that black’s are woefully under represented in higher education, corporate America yet are over represented in the penal system. When Cindy McCain sees this does it even register, does she even care, does she make any attempts to change or remedy the situation? Or does she stand on a stage and tell a few hundred people in an audience plus the millions watching on television that “she is proud” of these facts which plague her and OUR country?

Michelle Obama can drive through her Chicago city and any other that actually HAS a black population and see the blatantly glaring disparity between those in the white communities and those in the black inner city. She can see the woeful condition of the schools, medical facilities (if they have them), businesses, public parks and any other condition you want to look at, and see that these conditions don’t plague most white communities. Is Cindy McCain proud of these facts? Does she even SEE these facts? Or is she too busy being the elitist, obliviously blind, proud heiress to some fortune of untold millions (she still hasn’t released those tax returns).

I am curious what Cindy McCain would tell some inner city kid who has a crumbling failing school, a poor substandard neighborhood, lack of decent housing, lack of nutritious food, no prospects for the future and no one from her husbands government to give a damn, what the hell they are supposed to be proud of. Exactly how would she approach that topic with them? This high and mighty attitude from her and other idiots stumping for the GOP in their smear ad shows that these elitist idiots really care. They care so much that they don’t bother to find out what a lot of the black community are dealing with on a daily basis. But when has the McCain family ever lifted a finger or eyebrow for that matter, to find out what anyone in the black community needs to make them able to have the American dream and be proud of their country?

  2. Essentially, what Ms. McCain was really saying was fuck black people, who gives a shit about what they think or what they feel about the racist shit that keeps happening in America. As far as she is concerned, she’s always been proud of America, even when racist cops makes black people’s lives a living hell. Ms. McCain is proud of the fact that overzealous judges, prosecutors, lawyers and everybody else in this “blind” justice system works together to keep black in their place. Cops face unarmed black people and they cower in so much fear they can’t help but kill black people. This is the America Ms. McCain is so proud of. And they have the nerve to call the Obama family elitist.

That is a very good question.

Is Cindy McCain disconnected from the trials and tribulations of the usual American?

(Note: I had to catch myself; I almost used the words, typical or average, in place of usual.)

Your essay reminded me of a 1992 Presidential Debate in which President Bush (father), Bill Clinton, and Ross Perot participated.

    Here is a weblink entitled,
    “Clinton’s First 100 Days in 1993”
    http://www.drbilllong.com/CurrentEventsIX/FirstDays.html
    and an excerpt:
    “…
One question during the second Presidential debate (October 15, 1992), where “real” Americans asked questions, seemed to fluster and disarm the President. A woman asked: “How has the national debt personally affected each of your lives?” Perot answered that it had driven him to run for office. Clinton, speaking third, advanced toward his questioner and told her that he knew by name people who had lost jobs in this recession, and he pointed to a “failed economic theory” (supply side economics) as the culprit. President Bush had a difficult time explaining himself. Many people feel that his answer, actually “sunk” his candidacy. Here is the exchange in full, with “Simpson” being the moderator Carole Simpson of ABC News.

Where McCain is concerned, maybe history will repeat itself.

    Thank you for listening.

Hi. I agree. A parent always loves his/her child, but will not always be proud of the choices that child makes. I love my country, but I am not always proud of it.

  5. rimofheaven

I love your blog. I believe I’ll be back. Extremely informative, and absolutely needed.

  6. AKL

Sentence incomplete, keep the blacks/Asians/latinos in place should be the right sentence up in the blog.

  7. The Engineer,

Thanks as usual for the informative reply. I will definitely check out the link as it sounds like it hits on my point. These people we elect are elitist’s and don’t share any of our problems so how are they going to solve them. I can’t very well address a problem that I don’t have or know anything about.

    Thanks again.

    Rimofheaven,

Welcome to the blog and thanks for the compliment. I could not agree with you more. We all LOVE our country as it is ours. We just are not proud of every little thing that happens here. And I believe that by the GOP and McCain’s attempt to smear Michelle Obama they have made a big mistake.

White people are complaining about the war and economy, does this mean that they don’t love their country or aren’t proud of it? Everyone finds something about this country to be not be proud of, that is our right to do so. It does not diminish our patriotism.

    Thank you.

    AKL,

I am concluding that you would like for me to add in Asians and Latinos. Unfortunately I speak for myself and I happen to be black. If Asians or Latinos or anyone else would like to blog about the problem, by all means have at it. But I am sure that they also have a beef in this topic as well.

    Thanks for the reply.

    Cindy Hensley McCain:

This is an interesting article as not much was known about her. She was on Leno the
other night and it was an interesting interview. It turns out that she is a character as she
is or has been a race car driver. She is also a pilot and flies John around the country to his
rallies. After hearing that about her and reading this I now have a lot of respect for her.

Election 2008: Cindy Hensley McCain has been disparaged as a trophy wife, a Barbie, an
heiress with fancy purses, even the Paris Hilton of politics. But there’s more to the picture
    than meets the eye.

Yes, Mrs. McCain is the perfectly coifed blonde standing dutifully behind the senator during
his speeches. And yes, she wears stylish clothing and carries a Prada purse. And it’s true she
doesn’t say much. But feminist critics who write her off as a “stand-by-your-man” shrinking
violet are selling her short. In many ways, Cindy McCain stacks up sturdier than Hillary Clinton
or Michelle Obama. And she’d make a more impressive first lady.

Mrs McCain: More than meets the eye.

While Obama’s wife has been hating America , complaining about the war and undermining our
troops serving in Afghanistan , McCain’s wife has been worrying about her sons who actually
are fighting or planning to fight in the war on terror. One, in fact, was until a few months ago
deployed in Iraq during some of the worst violence.

You don’t hear the McCains talk about it, but their 19-year-old Marine, Jimmy, is preparing for
his second tour of duty. Their 21-year-old son, Jack, is poised to graduate from Annapolis and
also could join the Marines as a second lieutenant. The couple made the decision not to draw
attention to their sons out of respect for other families with sons and daughters in harm’s way.

Cindy also says she doesn’t want to risk falling apart on the campaign trail talking about Jimmy
who was so young when he enlisted she had to sign consent forms for his medical tests before he
could report for duty and potentially upsetting parents of soldiers who are serving or have been
    killed.

The McCains want to make sure their boys get no special treatment. Same goes for their five other
children, including a daughter they adopted from Bangladesh . During a visit to Mother Teresa’s
orphanage there, Cindy noticed a dying baby. The orphanage could not provide the medical care
needed to save her life. So she brought the child home to America for the surgery she desperately
needed. The baby is now their healthy, 16-year-old daughter, Bridget.

Though all seven McCain children including two Sen. McCain adopted from his first marriage are
supportive of their father, they prefer their privacy to the glare of the campaign trail. Another daughter,
Meghan, 23, helps him behind the scenes.

Cindy McCain not only cherishes her children, but also her country, which in an election year filled
with America-bashing, is a refreshing novelty. She seethed when she heard Michelle Obama’s
unpatriotic remarks that she only recently grew proud of America . “I am very proud of my country,”
    Mrs. McCain asserted.

She also may be tougher than the other women in the race. While Hillary thinks she’s come under
sniper fire on mission trips abroad, Cindy has actually seen violence. She witnessed a boy get
blown up by a mine in Kuwait during a trip with an international group that removes land mines
    from war-torn countries.

Mrs. McCain also is a hands-on philanthropist. She sits on the board of Operation Smile, which
arranges for plastic surgeons to fix cleft palates and other birth defects. She also has helped
organize relief missions to Micronesia .

During a scuba-diving vacation to the islands, Mrs. McCain took a friend to a local hospital to have
a cut treated. She was shocked, and saddened, by what she saw.

“They opened the door to the OR, where the supplies were, and there were two cats and a whole
bunch of rats climbing out of the sterile supplies, ” she recalled. “They had no X-ray machine, no beds.
To me, it was devastating because it was a U.S. trust territory.” As soon as she returned home, she
arranged for medical equipment and teams of doctors to be sent to treat the island children.

Michelle Obama may contribute to CARE, which fights global poverty and works to empower poor
women. Cindy sits on its board.

While the Democrat women talk about helping the poor and needy, Cindy McCain
actually rolls up her sleeves and does it. Who’s the out-of-touch elitist?

  9. Tim,

Give me a break! By rolling up her sleeves and helping the poor did you mean how she stole darvacet and percocet from the medical charity she worked for.

Or to make it worse do mean helping when she had her husband fire the boss who caught her and tried to have her get help. This is all part of this so called stand up lady you refer to.

She loves America where else can a rich white elitist enjoy the addiction of prescription pain killers never to know the inside of a prison cell like so many of her poor or working class counterparts.

So please don’t try and sell me on this elitist bitch who sits around spending a quarter of a million dollars in one day. Adopting ONE little Bangladeshi girl makes up for ignoring the millions of starving and dying American minority and white people right here in her own country. OK if you say so.

Also, she has rolled up her sleeves and done what for the American people? Has she actually given her life’s money to help those who need help HERE AT HOME and live like the rest of America? Not one bit! Next you will tell me she gave her kidney to a homeless person in China.

Again give me a break, the more I learn about her the more disgusting she is. But one thing you never spoke to was how blacks and whites live in a vastly different America. So how can she NOT be proud of her country. They never enslaved her forefathers, denied her the majority of the laws of ALL WHITE PEOPLE. She has been living the white life of Riley.

So thanks but no thanks to your propaganda laden push for Cindy.

  10. ct

So which end of the “vastly different America” does the Multi-million $ Obama mansion fit in? Ever wonder if you worry about race so much, you yourself may just be racist?

  11. ct,

How silly! In case you are too dense to understand what I mean by “vastly different America’s” I am talking about TREATMENT FROM THE DOMINANT RACE. Not how much money you have. Because if I am not mistaken even some people who are being subjugated can break into the upper and middle class. Also, Obama’s house is a million at best. He is by no means running around with so many houses and properties that he has to have his assistant tell us the number after they do some research.

But the point of the post is not about the millions of dollars that the McCain’s have. It is about the fact that this fool and his idiotic wife are so very out of touch with the MAJORITY of people in America. Also, I don’t worry about race so much or whatever you may think, since you have known me all of about… OH you don’t know me at all. Anyway, I have no thoughts that I might be racist. In fact I find it is an incredibly idiotic question, statement or whatever you meant it as. Since I let people show who they are instead of stereotyping and lumping them all together, I am damn sure I am not a racist. How about you? Any thoughts that YOU may be a racist? Just wondering!

    Thanks

SPOILER ALERT: Biased and subjective individual opinion to follow! Those who would seek an objective political viewpoint to base their electoral voting process on should look away immediately (not to mention stop getting their political beliefs shaped by others; take the time to research candidates on your own, and develop your own thoughts on them)!!

Write your own damn name on the ballot in November. That way, you know you will have voted for somebody that gave a damn about “your” future.
