Are You That Desperate Rick Perry?

Governor Perry is so desperate he’s pulling a Michelle Bachman.  Now saying that a poor, poor lady with cancer told him that if someone doesn’t get rid of Obamacare that she will surely die.  Somehow Obamacare will kill her.  Now my question is exactly how will Obamacare kill her?  Did it “give” her the cancer she is dying from?  Will it stop her from continuing her current health plan IF she has one?  Will it stop her from getting Medicare or Medicaid if she is getting that?  Of course not!

What is it about the Obama healthcare plan that causes so much angst?  Only a small part of the plan is even enacted and the rest doesn’t come into play until 2014.  So, out of what IS enacted could any of these be killing this poor cancer ridden lady?

Could it be that the plan forces insurance companies to cover recommended preventive services without charging out of pocket costs: Services like mammograms, colonoscopies, immunizations, pre-natal and new baby care are now covered, and insurance companies are prohibited from charging deductibles, co-payments or co-insurance?

Do you think that making insurance companies cover preventative services and the like are killing her, is it stopping her care?  Probably not, so let’s keep looking.

How about this one:

Give her an opportunity to appeal coverage decisions by her insurance company: Consumers are guaranteed the right to appeal insurance company decisions to an independent third party.

Well I am sure as hell if her insurance company says they don’t want to pay for any new treatments her doctor feels will help her cancer, that she would think having the RIGHT to appeal would be very much needed.  In fact it COULD be the one thing that saves her life.  Well, let’s keep looking, since we know for a fact this ain’t it.

The last one, could it be this:

It guarantees enrollees their choice of primary care provider: Consumers have their choice of provider within the plan’s network of doctors, including OB-GYNs and pediatricians, without a referral, as well as out-of-network emergency care.

I doubt very seriously if having her choice of primary care providers is killing her or hurting her in any way.  If she doesn’t want to choose a doctor and would be more comfortable letting her insurance company choose, I am more than sure they would have no problem steering her to her cities equivalent of the Simpson’s Doctor Nick in Springfield.

These are the only things that are going on right now, and nothing that I have seen in the bill coming up would kill her either.  So what the hell is she or is Perry talking about.  What are any of these idiots posing as Republican presidential candidates talking about when screaming they wish to end this bill.

Do they wish to ensure poor autistic children and their families have their healthcare cancelled the minute they get the diagnosis, as that is one of the things that this bill stops.  Or are they hell bent on ensuring that people who don’t have healthcare stay that way?  What is it that these people DO want?  They never tell the alternative, all they say is they want to stop socialized medicine.  Why?  Every one of the top nations in the world with the better life expectancies and beating us on the best places to live has socialized medicine.  Is it killing them?  Maybe we should start thinking about that.

Looking at these candidates and looking at my fellow American’s who are choosing from this gang of clowns, makes Finland, Canada, France, Germany, Sweden and Norway look really good right now.  I think it is time to invest in Rosetta Stone and call it a day.

Should Religious Beliefs Trump Legal Rights?

People such as Rose Marie Belforti pictured above, the town clerk in Ledyard NY decided that she just can’t give out marriage licenses to gay couples due to her religion so she did just that, told a lesbian couple they will need to come back and get that license when one of her subordinates could do it for them.

Now, unfortunately I don’t believe that she was hired to a job in government due to her religion or based on her religion.  Her religion is her religion and that is something for her to keep to herself at her home.  She actually has no right to bring her philosophical beliefs to the workplace and infringe on others rights.  Belforti says state law “protects my right to hold both my job and my beliefs.”

Where state law DOES protect her right to hold her beliefs, it DOESN’T protect her from failing to do her job.  That right there should have this fool kicking up dust all the way to the unemployment office where someone there should deny her service because their god says only pretty people need be served.  And you know what I’m talkin’ bout’, just look at her.  And my god says it is my right to call it like I see it!

The bible says in Genesis 3:16 – “I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children.  So me being a nurse, would she be in support of me denying her or her daughter’s call for pain medication during the delivery of a child.  Should I say that in good Christian faith, I can’t get her any pain medication nor call an anesthesiologist due to my Christian beliefs which says that women should be in extreme pain during childbirth?  And that her or her daughter will have to wait eight hours or more until my shift ends before they can have their pain alleviated due to my beliefs, is that acceptable to her.

People are so hypocritical.  It is becoming much more prevalent these days.  I want to deny people rights they have under the law based on my fucked up views of religion etc.  All the while expecting others to respect their rights not only to do everything they want to do that complies with the law.  She would never understand a teacher at her daughter’s school saying that he can’t teach her because his religious views say that women shouldn’t be allowed to be educated.  And that her daughter will need to wait until she can get into another teacher’s class who will tolerate females being educated.  She would expect this male teacher be fired, or disciplined in some way.

This woman should be fired.  It is not her place to bring her religion to work.  It is not her right to force her beliefs on anyone else.  It IS her job to hand out marriage licenses not to administer religious teaching.  And it is high time that we put a stop to these people who feel that their rights trump everyone else’s rights.  There is nothing written in the constitution placing anyone person’s rights above another.  Well except when we are dealing with black folks, but that’s another story isn’t it.

Where does it stop?  Do we have to be subject to others views of the bible which can be pretty damaging?  When does the stoning start?  Do I get to tell my boss that even though I am required to work on the Sabbath, I won’t and I should not only keep my job but be paid because they can’t infringe upon my religious rights?  And then should I be able to stone people to death for working on the Sabbath?  Because we all know that in Numbers 15:32-56 it does say that Moses was told by god to stone a man to death for gathering sticks on the Sabbath.  Hey, it’s my right under the bible and the state can’t stand in the way of my religious rights!

We have to set precedence or there is no stopping the things that one can do under the guise of bible worship.  I can stone my son to death for being insolent as it gives me full right to do in Deuteronomy 21:18-21.  This crap is going way too far and it is infringing on the rights of other humans to live their lives as the constitution said We hold these truths to be self–evident, That all men are created equal, That they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, That among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.– That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, Deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.

It clearly says that the government and I would assume the workers there in, derive their powers from the consent of the governed NOT from the bible, god nor Christian churches or any other churches.  So it is about time to knock some sense into these people.  Kick her butt out of that position and place someone there that understands that the power they possess are given by the people who consist of gays, blacks, Asians, whites, Muslims, Hispanics and every other race, religion or creed.  Come on people get over your petty discrimination already!  And that means you Rose Marie Belforti!

M O R O N – That Spells Tea Party

Waaahhh, I only have 400 thousand dollars left over after feeding my family!  Is what Tea Party congressman John Fleming’s cried on Jansing & Co. this morning about Obama’s plan to tax the wealthy as much as the middle class.  Can this idiot be for real?

We have people and a lot of them in this country as well as in the Tea Party who have to “get along” with more like 40 thousand dollars or less a year and he is crying over 400 thousand.  That just pisses me off to the core.  This is the selfish bullshit that we are dealing with in some of the worst economic times ever.

Not only is this Tea Party sucker bitching and moaning about paying more taxes, but he and his cohorts are also saying that we need to cut spending on programs for the poor as well as “raise” taxes on those same poor folks.  Because lord knows those poor suckers who after feeding their families are left with a good 200 dollars for the year as income should be forking out at least a hundred and fifty of that to pay down the deficit consisting mainly of tax cuts for John Fleming and those like his selfish ass.

Poor John Fleming sitting there in his million dollars or better home with his family just trying to survive and here we are trying to create class warfare with his kind by taking more of those 400 thousand dollar crumbs of his is after his businesses brought in 6.3 million dollars for the year.  I guess when he said 400 thousand; he totally forgot the 173 thousand a year he also gets by being a congressman.  But, why split hairs, we know he is just on the cusp of the poor house; and with that kind of money coming in every year, who can remember it all.

The class warfare is that the Republican and Tea Party believes that not only do the rich need to pay less into the society that is putting the money in their pockets, but somehow the poor should be paying more to ensure that they have the means to pay less.  How sick is that?  This has been a long time coming and people better start looking at the writing on the wall before it’s too late.

Even Jansing told the idiot that he position to the majority of America isn’t very sympathetic.  He could care less because his answer was the “class warfare never created one job.”  But, you know what Mr. Fleming, a tax cut for a selfish wealthy bastard never created one job either.  In fact the years that we had all these tax cuts for the rich, the only thing that happened was that we started losing jobs faster than ever.

Because what Fleming doesn’t understand is that he has the whole economic structure backwards.  He believes that those at the top or company owners create jobs when in fact it is those at the bottom who create jobs.  It probably sounds nuts but hear me out.  If I open a lemonade stand, I have to have a demand for my lemonade from the thirsty people looking for a good deal on a cold drink on a hot day.

Neither Mr. Fleming nor his cohorts are cruising the streets looking for lemonade as these people only make up one percent of the population anyway.  It is the hard working people that are my customers.  And any kid with a paper route, lemonade stand or girl scout selling cookies understands that you aren’t going to do any business if you have no customers or your customers have no money to spend.

Mr. Flemings owns a lot of Subway sandwich shops and he isn’t going to tell me that somehow if he has lower taxes and the poor have higher taxes he is going to do some brisk business.  In fact we all know that he will do very poorly.  If the people have no money or less money frivolous spending at sub shops will decline.  Those moneyless people will be better off buying a loaf of bread and a package of baloney at the super market for the price of one sub sandwich.  So, who is fooling who here?

But, you see it doesn’t just stop there.  He and his cohorts want to cut all government programs so that those poor folks won’t even get food stamps to buy their bread and baloney.  But, unfortunately for Mr. Fleming, they won’t have money for food, but they damn sure won’t have money for his stupid submarine sandwich.

I guess we’ll see his stupid face in the soup kitchen line right along with the rest of us.  You can’t build a business with moneyless customers.  And if your customers have no money, you my friend will eventually have no money either.

Is Disagreeing With Obama Racism?

OK, it is getting just absolutely nuts out there.  I am reading some; make that a lot of blogs out there that all have the same theme.  By Carter saying that race is playing a part in how Obama is being treated somehow they think that everyone is saying that everyone is playing the race card.  Somehow racism can’t be a part of people disagreeing with Obama.  And all the people hate Obama for what he has done.

One of the blogs I read said that people hated Obama because of what he has done to the country and what he is trying to do.  Well, I’ll bite.  What exactly has Obama done?   I personally don’t care for Obama as I know for a fact that he cares as much about the black community as McCain or his idiotic sidekick moose hunter Palin.  I just haven’t seen anything that the guy has done or proposed that would cause all this anger.

Bush enacted the Patriot Bill which actually stole our so called “freedoms” and no one seems to have been out running to a tea party.  Bush said that it was OK to wire tap AMERICAN CITIZENS in their homes which takes away my right to privacy and yet not one tea party or outcry from Glen Beck or anyone else who leans right.

Supposedly Obama has run up the deficit, yet where were these so called tea party folks when Bush practically sent this country to the poor house?  Where in the hell do these uneducated loons think that this large as hell deficit came from?  Trust me it didn’t pop into existence the day Obama won the white house.  Trust me it was there the day before, the year before.  Hell it was there two, three and even four years before and was growing bigger every day.

Is it just me or does anyone else wonder where in the hell were all these people crying give us our country back?   Why is it, all of a sudden a black man is in the white house and now we, and in case no one noticed the vast majority of these people are white, want the country back.  Back from WHO!?  Who in the hell has taken off with the country?   Oh, yeah a black man.  I get it.

Anyway, these people don’t understand that it is one thing to disagree with the president, hell I do.  I just really don’t like this guy.  But, when I am holding signs that say “there is an African lion in the zoo and an African lying in the white house”; I think we have gone far beyond just disagreeing with the president.  There is NO need to mention is race or creed in order to make a point about how he is doing a bad job.

But, you see, my problem is that he really hasn’t DONE anything that shows he did a bad job.  He hasn’t raised taxes (YET), he hasn’t gotten us into two ridiculous wars, he hasn’t sat idly by while a whole state of people practically drowned and starved for five days and he sure hasn’t enacted a bunch of laws that strips Americans of their rights.  And if he has, then why doesn’t someone please list these taxes, wars, catastrophes and laws that he has helped to pass that would show me the reason for such anger.

I didn’t support Bush either but I wouldn’t jump down his throat if he had done nothing to hurt people.  But the problem is he did.  So there has to be something that this guy has done that would cause all these people to practically be chomping at the bit to overthrow the government.  I have been listening to these people at the tea parties and health care protests and they say things that go against their own interests.  So what is their real motive if not health care and taxes?

Wanda Sykes Takes Rush To Task

I will admit that I don’t like Wanda Sykes one bit.  But the tongue lashing she’s taking from the right wing after her appearance at the white house correspondents’ dinner is a bit hypocritical.  She criticized Rush Limbaugh which I can’t fault her on.  She said things such as I think Rush Limbaugh was the 20th hijacker [on 9/11] but he was just so strung out on OxyContin he missed his flight. He needs a good water boarding — that’s what he needs.”  And “he wishes the president would fail well I wish his kidneys would fail.”

Now what I found so funny was that a journalist actually said “Imagine if a comedian “joked” that Obama was a terrorist who was guilty of treason and should be tortured and allowed to die. There would justifiably be an outcry.”  Now I don’t know where the hell this guy was during the elections but these people not only called him a terrorist they said he palled around with them and was an undercover Muslim among other derogatory and untrue statements.

And I didn’t once here the right wing cry about it.  And in fact in some cases the one banging the “he’s a terrorist” drum was the Republican Vice President elect Sarah Palin.  Now as far as I am concerned Rush Limbaugh is a fat sloppy junky who seems to be in control of the Republican Party.  And whether or not Wanda Sykes makes fun of that is neither here nor there for me.  Sure she wished the guys kidneys would fail, but isn’t that freedom of speech just like Rush wishing the president would fail?

What’s the big deal?  She is a comedienne and just like Rush said after he blasted that wished the president would fail all over the air waves, he is just a comedian making jokes.  Can’t the same be said about the ever irritating Wanda Sykes?  Why doesn’t the right wing head its own advice and take a joke for a joke.

So what is the issue?  That Wanda Sykes was well beyond tasteful with her jokes?  Who around here didn’t know that this idiotic lady had no taste?  And who the hell ever cared about someone not having good sense or taste before?  No right winger gave a damn that Rush had and has no taste or good sense.  Hell where was Don Imus’ taste or good sense when he was calling black ladies nappy headed ho’s?

The real problem is the hypocrisy or the right wing that leaks like so much sweat on that fat ass Rush’s forehead.  They will lead the witch hunt yelling about birth certificates, Muslims, friends being terrorists and all that then turn around and act like a stupid joker named Wanda Sykes somehow speaks for the entire Democratic Party.  Oh my god, give me a break, please.  And leading the charge is Michelle Malkin who has said some of the most erroneous things that anyone can say.

This whole situation is a joke!  When are we going to grow up in our taste for news and a government?  We are failing as a people and it has nothing to do with who our president is, what Wanda Sykes says or that Rush Limbaugh wishes we would.  We are failing because instead of seriously looking at working together as a people we continuously separate and point the fingers of incredulity; instead of actually making this a better place for EVERYBODY.  This is just my two cents on this un-news story.

Help, I Can’t Live On 500K

I was listening to “the talk of the nation” on NPR today. They had investigative reporter Alan Salkin on talking about a piece he did for the New York Times called “You try living on 500K in this town.” He was referring to the proposed cap on pay to bankers and CEO’s for these banks receiving bailout money. He investigated why it is impossible for these folks to live on 500K when they had appearances to keep, expensive homes in the city and the Hamptons plus nannies and doormen to pay.

Now I totally understand that he was just reporting the numbers that these people shell out while earning two or three million dollars a year. What I was dumbfounded by were the comments that people who were trying to defend the lifestyles of these rich yet not so famous CEO’s. I know that there are always two sides to every story, which is the reason Mr. Salkin wrote the piece. But, no amount of sugary explanations can make this make this palatable.

The one comment that had me practically screaming in my car was a lady who felt that we should cut them some slack as this country isn’t a socialist one. That if there is money to be made those CEO’s should have every opportunity to make as much of it as they can. Let capitalism work and if that means they get rich then so be it. She also felt that when they ask for handouts they shouldn’t have to jump through hoops or be penalized because there is nothing wrong with being wealthy.

Now, she wants me to believe that I and everyone else should cut them some slack, but when does anyone cut slack to poor people or black people for that matter? When has a poor person who wanted a government handout ever been cut some slack? When have they ever been able to continue a lavish lifestyle while digging in Uncle Sam’s pockets for food stamps and welfare?

Yet, somehow I am supposed to understand that these rich moneybag CEO’s have a lifestyle to uphold with a large mortgage on two possibly three houses who need help should not have to worry about losing their lifestyles. But, those who are poor are somehow to blame for their circumstances and should be held totally accountable. Not to mention those poor people should have to suffer under the most stringent of rules just to get a whopping four hundred dollars a month or better yet three hundred or so dollars a month in food stamps.

Sure, that is understandable. Let those getting billions do so with no impunity while those wanting mere pennies in contrast should be subjected to the most rigorous raking over the hot coals. Lord knows those penny beggars are somehow more likely to be cheaters. With this type of attitude running amok in our society is there any doubt as to why disparity is not only allowed but encouraged to flourish?

I agree with her on one thing which is that we should allow the free market capitalism to work for these people. Meaning that they felt it was appropriate for them to get ungodly amounts of money while the bubble was rising and now that it has popped and is speeding back to earth, they should suffer the fallout. And better yet, don’t ask for government money if you don’t want to be subject to the same rigors of scrutiny that everyone else is subject to while asking for a handout.

To Eat In Mississippi Just Step On The Scales

You might have heard the news that a Mississippi law maker wants to pass a law making it illegal for restaurants to serve food to clinically obese people. How stupid is this? I can understand wanting to help people lose weight because I am all for controlling issues of weight and any other unhealthy problem people may face. It doesn’t matter how unhealthy you are as long as you aren’t obese.

What I don’t like is the fact that they are going to go on looks alone to base this law. How about the skinny person who has a cholesterol level of like 350 and is sliding towards a heart attack shouldn’t they be kept from the trough as well? They are just as or unhealthier than the obese person yet it is OK as long as they are skinny. No matter that the plate of greasy burger and fries is the last straw and he or she walks out of the restaurant and drops dead of a heart attack. Who should be to blame for this?

What about the bulimic person who may be thin but due to the binging and purging they are extremely unhealthy. Should the restaurant not be helping to feed this unhealthy eating disorder by supplying them with the food they want to binge just so they can go home or somewhere else and purge it out somehow? Is the restaurant supposed to be able to deny helping them become even unhealthier even though they look normal and healthy?

Should the tanning shops now deny tans to those super tanned individuals who are ruining their skin and will undoubtedly have skin cancer in the future? Should every industry that might be aiding and abetting some behavior that could possibly lead to unhealthy outcomes be charged with regulating the persons partaking in it? What about football and the Super Bowl? They just came out with statistics that show that people are prone to stress related heart problems from watching the games. Should we now have a health screening for those who wish to watch the game live or in a pub etc.?

The problem is we can’t regulate what people do when it is legal for them to do it. This law maker is making a lot of assumptions about the people who are obese. The assumption is that the people are fat due to chronic over eating and that is it. What about the people who have glandular problems such as PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and endocrine problems such as thyroid conditions, parathyroid, pancreas, adrenal, pituitary and hypothalamus problems, diseases such as Cushing’s disease and lastly a plethora of certain drugs such as antidepressants and anti-seizure just to name a couple.

Yet we are going to trust whether or not a person is just a fat slob who is killing themselves with food to some waitress, waiter or greeter at a restaurant. The bill was authored by Senator W.T. Mayhall, Jr. Now this senator supposedly has a background in medicine which makes me ask the question how he can make such a stupid bill which certainly won’t help. At best it will be another way to subjugate people, obese people.

Just Be Thankful You’re American

I recently did a post on sex slaves in America and inside I talked about a bunch of Ukrainian women who were brought here under the assumption they would be getting jobs except those jobs were as prostitutes. Now they are free, tens of thousands of dollars richer and American citizens. They actually spoke to congress about the sex slave industry and cried their collective eyes out at the humiliation, torment and degradation they suffered at the hands of their captors. Now New Jersey lawmakers would like to offer an apology for the enslavement of the Africans.

An apology is a good start to trying to acknowledge a wrong that was never corrected. Republican Assemblymen such as Richard Merkt and Michael Patrick Carroll had problems with this. They feel that it would be meaningless. Assemblyman Richard Merkt wanted to know, “Who living today is guilty of slave holding and thus capable of apologizing for the offense?” Also, “And who living today is a former slave and thus capable of accepting the apology? So how is a real apology even remotely possible, much less meaningful, given the long absence of both oppressor and victim?”

“But, on a current note, if slavery was the price that a modern American’s ancestors had to pay in order to make one an American, one should get down on one’s knees every single day and thank the Lord that such price was paid,” Carroll said. Carroll said while his ancestors came from Ireland around the 1850s, fleeing a potato famine he said was worsened by British indifference; he bore the British no ill will. Now back to our Ukrainian ladies. From what Assemblyman Carroll is saying these ladies should be on their collective knees daily and this time to thank the modern day slave catchers for helping to make them citizens of America. Not only the ladies but their children, children’s children should all be on their knees giving thanks that the sex slave catchers got their mothers and grandmothers and making them free Americans.

Now that sounds pretty sickening if you ask me, that we have people that are so callous as to think that someone should be thankful that their family has been enslaved and subjugated. They should be thankful for the passing on of not only an American citizenship but a legacy of subjugation, discrimination and bias. Mr. Carroll would NEVER make that statement to these ladies let alone any white person who suffered from some devastating event that caused them to be in America. Would he say that to the Jews who suffered through the holocaust? Hey they had to suffer immensely, losing family members and their freedom yet they should be thanking the Nazi’s each and every day down on their knees no doubt for the chance to be an American citizen.

If a drunk driver swerves his car into a car carrying Mr. Carroll’s children and they all get killed including the drunk driver would he feel it to be meaningless for the drunk driver’s family to offer his family some sort of apology for the disaster? I mean the drunk driver is dead so can’t apologize; his kids are dead so they can’t accept it so to him it is a waste of time. Yet on a daily basis in some court here in America you have murderer after murderer who is apologizing for the murder of somebody or another. Then there are the people who are accepting of the apology, not the person however because they are no longer here. But, the apology still helps those left behind to begin healing from whatever mental anguish they have been and are suffering.

The extreme condescension of comparing slavery of ones ancestors to a famine is indescribable. People constantly want to make comparisons with regards to slavery. It is just another way of diminishing the act or trying to lessen its blow. It is like comparing starvation which lasts months until one dies to going without lunch for one day. How about I compare his family’s potato famine with the cold that I had last year which was pretty bad and I felt terrible for a week. I am sure he and certainly his ancestors would say that it was no comparison.

Now slavery was a LONG time ago I will grant you. But looking at the big picture what has been done to take the sting of it away from the minds of those that are here now. What has anyone done to make amends for this travesty of justice? What exactly did we get for our families suffering through slavery? We received the bonuses of lynching, Jim Crow, discrimination, racism, white privilege, deep resentment, out right hatred and ambivalence. Yet I am supposed to be thankful to have this legacy. Maybe we as blacks are thankful to be in the United States but the problem is that not only our ancestors had to pay a price; we are still paying a price with racism, injustice, discrimination and hypocrisy at every turn. So why don’t we start with a simple apology then move on to some real corrections and end white privilege, racism and try to make life fair to ALL races.

The Propaganda of A Ron Paul Supporter

I received a reply from a reader that it seems has a totally opposite view of things than myself. Instead of returning a reply I felt that this comment deserved its own post. The reply is from H.R. who seems to constantly have this totally condescending attitude when talking with me. I am not sure whether this is personal or just his arrogant egotistical attitude. He has referred to my mind as being a sad little tiny place, I am also brain damaged and intellectually crippled.

Instead of exchanging barbs I will try my best to get my point across to you as well as H.R., who starts us off with “Government is an agreement among free people. Do you get that? A set of rules agreed upon by a set of people. Not a separate entitiy from those people. It’s when you start thinking of government as some all powerful being that’s going to take care of you and fight your battles and right all wrongs that you set yourself up to be controlled.

YES, I understand the principle of government and who and what it is for. That was the point I was trying to make to H.R. in a previous reply. He previously said that “No, the system didn’t “encompass” slavery … Blacks weren’t defined as people protected under the system. In other words, it was a mistake of definition, not in the nature of the law. Think of it as a monopoly game. The rules are the same for everyone, but the hard fact is that you weren’t allowed to play for a while. Now you can play, but because you’re bitter about being excluded you wan’t the rules slanted in your favor ..” Now when I spoke to him previously I used the term system to mean government.

H.R. can’t sit and now claim that the system never encompassed slavery. If the “system” never encompassed slavery then exactly who did? The system DID encompass slavery as it was institutionalized which meant that the act was given authority and by who if not the system or government. Yet H.R. would like for us to believe that somehow slavery didn’t involve the system who were the government who were the people.

Back to his comment about government, the operative word in his definition is FREE. When the government or system was set up we were NOT a free people so therefore had no such agreement. Now that we are supposedly free, the SAME government that deemed us as NOT free has not changed, they are not some new entity who entered into a new agreement with us. So what does a people do when the system or government or those free individuals making agreements with the government is dominated by a race of people who one – don’t respect them, two – started out denying them and continue to do so and three – don’t protect or acknowledge their rights whatever you deem that to be.

You can’t, if you want to have principles, allow racial issues to influence your philosophy of government, any more than you can have special rules for short people, ugly people, people with IQs under 90, etc. At what point do you stop dividing people and taking from one group to make up ground for another group? It’s a slippery slope.

Racial issues are and will continue to dominate our country due to the unwillingness of the dominating populace to see the hypocrisy in its actions. One group gets special treatment, is and was allowed to take from the other for the entire duration of their relationship and NOW H.R. would like for us to stop dividing people. I don’t know where he is going with this. I would like to know at what point do we stop dividing people and how do we even the playing field after one group has and continues to benefit so heavily from the divisions they created.

You have no larger concept of government except that it was created by whites so it must be a plot to perpetuate white privilege … This is a truly ignorant stance. You know what else was created by whites??? Nearly every staple of your life. The computer you’re using, the light over your head, the internal combustion engine in the car you drive … Was all of this done to perpetuate white privilege? Please tell me.

The government being created by whites is not the problem. The government being created as a means to advance white people at the expense of all others IS. The only ignorant thing is that people can actually think that a system of government was enacted which encompassed the subjugation and slavery of another race is not inherently set up to perpetuate the ruling race’s status.

Thanks for the history lesson on inventions, but how about some of these. Pretty much every staple of YOUR life as well as mine has its roots in Africa. Africans pioneered mathematics, medical practices not rooted in myth or magic, metallurgy, building with brick and mortar, and astronomy. Now you thank an African American for open heart surgery, refrigeration for trucks also trains, gas masks, elevators, air conditioner, refrigerator, Cell phones, fire extinguishers and the computer system you use today with its working bus and peripheral capability. Are these plots by the black race to show that they are productive citizens and worthy of being equal?

These things were introduced as a matter of progress–as is the ever changing system of government in Western society. Political philosophers have never been preoccupied with race…. read what they have to say. Thomas Paine, who was responsible for inventing the American approach to government, was a destitute undergarment maker who came to America with nothing, never had much, and died with nothing. He was also outraged by slavery and was one of the first Americans to take a resolute stand against it.”

That is such a crock of bull! We have a system that says it is OK to discriminate, let people die as opposed to giving them healthcare, pay for war as opposed to caring for the children, sick and elderly. We are as corrupt as they come and are no better off than any socialist, communist or dictatorship. We are just bamboozled into thinking we are. We are NO more free, happy, healthy or rich. Again we are just bamboozled into thinking we have the best system on earth.

It’s pretty egocentric to assume that the framers of our government spent any time thinking of blacks …. The hard truth is that blacks were thought of as chattel; as property and nothing more. The system wasn’t designed to keep blacks down any more than it was designed to keep wagons or beasts of burden down

H.R. is abso-freakin-lutely right our grand old forefathers NEVER spent one second thinking about the black population. Because they DIDN’T MATTER! The system was designed to keep whites UP not blacks down, since they were already there. They had NO inclination that slavery would EVER end. So it wasn’t a matter of writing anything that had to take them into account. So, now how exactly was this government set up to give blacks the same rights as whites again?

So let’s be perfectly frank here, and tell me where I’ve got it wrong:
Blacks came literally out of the stone age into an intensely mechanized and complex civilization. They had not developed the wheel or a written language, and this was at the time that Newton was inventing modern physics, and even later, at the time that Edison was inventing the electric light, moving pictures, recorded sound for christ’s sake …. This was what, 2000 years (?) after practically every other racial group had conquered the seas, built ingenious sailing vessels and could navigate their ways around the world …

Is he joking! Blacks in Africa had the first Universities, even Plato had to go to Africa for a University education. We had the first medicine not rooted in magic. They were doing surgery with tools that those of today mimic. We had societies with government and rule of law. Africa had construction techniques such as brick and mortar, Metallurgy, irrigation, aqueducts and plumbing. We had civilizations so complex money was not even necessary not to mention thank them for the mathematics and writing utensils used today such as paper and pencils. There are tons of things coming from Africa yet I am sure that since he is coming from a white propaganda background he has yet to do any research in this area. He is not necessarily racist for this thinking just ignorant.

Please tell me, am I being a racist for pointing this out?

The point is, it’s totally intellectually irresponsible to say that blacks had it hard simply because whites have plotted to keep them down. You say the white race “did this to them” which is laughable …. First off, black chiefs were well involved in rounding up and selling other blacks. Secondly and most importantly, for whatever reason–and I’m not making any guesses, just dealing in the facts–black Africans had simply not advanced while most of the rest of the world was going forward at breakneck speed.”

It is irresponsible to say that blacks had it hard simply because whites have plotted to keep them down which is laughable. Of course blacks had it hard because whites were plotting to keep them down. If they didn’t plot against blacks then how does H.R. explain the KKK, Jim Crow, Slavery and all the persistent discrimination and racism that has continued even today? I totally agree that blacks were involved in the slave trade. Jews were involved in the holocaust, America trained Bin Laden and Al Qaeda to fight the Russians, so NOW WHAT? Are the Jews responsible for the holocaust, is America to blame for 9/11 and is this assertion supposed to make slavery OK now.

Black Africans were ruling Northern and Southern Africa which were going at breakneck speed living in civilized communities, writing history, building structures, cultivating crops and domesticating animals all the while the only thing stirring in Europe were drawing stick animals on cave walls. Does that sum up what I think of his guess?

H.R. definitely needs to take a course on African studies before you begin your little guessing game. It is pretty ignorant to make assumptions that blacks i.e. Africans are so pitiful and backwards. Yes the African continent has been trashed and usurped by many violent outside forces like the French, Dutch and British. If anything the problem Africa had is that it wasn’t VIOLENT enough to get rid of these people before they did so much damage. Now they are a group of fledgling nations trying to start again with all that they were wiped away by years of subjugate outside rule. Yes they have problems but, these nations are mere babies and will need to figure out what they are doing again.

Just being perfectly realistic, do you think Westerners could confront men of any color who did not have the wheel, a written language, clothes, etc., who could only make simple stone tools–and say “these men are my equals?

Answer that for me.

The answer to this is that H.R. definitely needs to take a few African history classes. The wheel was invented in Africa. He is so pompous about the white race or the western culture he belongs to that he actually think that everything was made by the western world. While the western world was making stone tools Africans were making tools and medical equipment from metal. Also they made scalpels and other cutting devices out of obsidian which western doctors are reverting back to. They were making replicas, jewelry and tools out of gold and mining diamonds and other stones.

And if clothes are the key to being civilized; then maybe the horrible monsters that enslaved a nation of people were just wearing the wrong things. So I am sure that with all the advances that the civilized African man had over the westerners did not cause them to see them as less than equals. But then again, the Africans didn’t attack nor try to enslave the Europeans when they met them, I am sure they were treated well just like the natives treated them when they landed in America.

Yet I am sure that none of that made any difference to H.R. as he is too far gone down the road of racist propaganda that he obviously has no interest in what really went on in Africa before the meddling of others. Africans were not these pathetic no bodies that he would like to paint them out to be. Racists usually can’t get their heads around the fact that all life originated in Africa and that the first civilized societies, with a lot of the modern day inventions that one likes to attribute to the western world.

On the whole, you need to recognize historical realities, and recognize that there’s a larger pattern of events. You’re a pretty severe racist because you’ve been duped into believing that everyone hates you because you’re black, and that everything’s a plot against you, and that history proves this. History actually proves nothing of the sort–only that your racial group was at an extraordinary disadvantage and suffered for it.

The thing that I and hopefully the other readers will recognize is that H.R. demonstrates the basic thinking of a racist who denies being one. He constantly alludes to the fact that Africans and their American counterparts are looked at as less than whites for all types of propaganda laden reasons. When H.R. says I’ve been duped I wonder if he means duped by me looking at the slavery, the systematic racism, the discrimination, the killings by lynching, police abuse, deaths, hypocritical justice system, wage discrepancies and the blatant disregard of ALL things that blacks or Africans have ever done, discovered or ever accomplished. Then yes by all means I have been duped.

It is easy to see that the ONLY conclusion that I could come to that would make any sense to H.R. would be to whatever he would and become a sheeple just like him and those like him. Unfortunately I can’t and won’t buy into H.R.’s propaganda and nonsensical thoughts on things. Yet I will let all of you the readers come to your own conclusion on this guy.

Does Affirmative Action Hurt

As I receive a plethora of comments for my posts about Ron Paul I have noticed a theme to the ones that talk about affirmative action. Somehow people are equating affirmative action with some sort of hand out or some sort of mandated free job system for all these unqualified opportunistic blacks who don’t deserve to have them. Now I personally equate these comments to racist mindsets. I feel this is due to the fact that if they didn’t already feel that blacks were unworthy of the jobs that they do receive.

Now what exactly makes these people think that the blacks are getting jobs that they aren’t qualified for? I have never nor has anyone I know ever been able to fall into a job that they were not qualified for. This is just more racist thinking that many have and refuse to acknowledge as such. I have repeatedly asked these people to explain why these blacks are unqualified or how and where these jobs were gotten.

With the thinking that no blacks are ever qualified this is contrary to the truth. Blacks getting jobs usually have to be twice as qualified as the next person in order to get the jobs they are going for, affirmative action or not. Just like one commenter said, blacks have to work twice as hard to prove to whites that they are worthy. I have to laugh that people are so quick to judge all blacks as unqualified even though they don’t know the qualifications of just a hand full of any particular blacks.

So from what they are saying, blacks just want a handout, that we should be shamed to be given something for nothing. When did trying to get a job become wanting a handout? Is it a handout when white people are applying for a job, of course not because it is accepted that they would be qualified for any job they apply for. Yet they turn right around and tell me of the racist nature of affirmative action.

When has anyone ever talked about the affirmative action that whites receive? All the while blacks were kept from the workforce due to Jim Crow and other racist programs aimed at preserving white domination in the workforce. Why are they not complaining about all the white women who are benefiting even more from affirmative action than any black person?

We have been led to believe that all the while whites have benefited from their own brand of affirmative action it is somehow now a problem when there is a program aimed at someone other than white males. We as blacks should somehow be ashamed that someone was trying to come up with something, anything that would even the playing field between white males and minorities even though it is woefully inadequate.

I understand that people feel that this is nothing more than a handout that disenfranchises white males. Because we all know that white males have such a hard time finding jobs in this white male dominated marketplace. By all accounts if affirmative action is this big job handout program there really shouldn’t be any unemployed black who have applied for more than one job. Since if the jobs are being handed out the first one they applied for would be theirs no questions asked. Yet we know full well that blacks or over represented on the unemployment lines.

Should we believe this is due to the fact that blacks somehow don’t want jobs? Even these free handout jobs that they don’t even have to be qualified for. I suppose that I should just clear the air and let people know that the Eddie Murphy movie Trading Places was a joke. Black homeless people really aren’t being snatched off the streets and thrown into the lap of luxury running a stock brokerage firm. Yet this is what comes to mind when some people talk about how blacks are receiving these handouts in the form of employment. Or the fact that they are saying that blacks are not qualified yet they got the job at the expense of a more qualified white man.

Affirmative action is a catchall phrase referring to laws, customs, and social policies intended to alleviate the types of discrimination that limit opportunities for a variety of demographic groups in various social institutions. And for us to believe that these laws, customs and social policies are hurting people you would have to first believe that the playing field for all people is an even one. Yet if you believe that then you would need to explain a whole slew of other problems facing our society. Such as blacks only earn 78% of what whites earn, blacks are still under represented in all facets of corporate America and black unemployment is more than double that of white unemployment.

These discrepancies between blacks and whites are just the tip of the iceberg. There are tons of other “documented” differences that can’t be explained away with blacks just don’t want to do better etc. A person named Ana who replied to my Blog once said “what group? white people are not a ‘group’ that has some special, common interest. white people are individuals whose foremost concerns is their own good and the good of their families and friends – not the good of other white people.

This is exactly my point if every white person is doing what Ana said, whites are looking out for the concerns of their friends and families who happen to be white like them. This is the epitome of the white privilege or white affirmative action of which I speak. And for Ana to say this is showing her protection of the white group and how they do come together to protect the group Yet a black person having affirmative action which is a suggestion of sorts that if they are most qualified for a position they will not be passed over merely for the color of their skin. But the facts show that this so called suggestion has no real teeth. Blacks are constantly passed over and this is due to the ingrained thinking that most whites have that blacks are unqualified, unworthy and thus undeserving of whatever employment they are seeking.
