Who Cares About Hunger When You Have A Meat Suit

The sheer audacity of some people is a line that I seem to be repeating consistently these days.  I know that I haven’t written an article in quite some time as I have some family affairs to deal with at this time which to me were and are more pressing.  Anyhow, this is about the MTV music awards.  Now mind you I don’t watch any music awards as they are all about stupidity and music that I could care less to listen to.  Not to mention about supposed stars that I could care less to neither see nor listen too.

But, in watching the news, which I DO like to partake in, I saw that Lady Gaga wore a meat suit to these stupid awards.  Now most of the time I could care less like I was saying, but for some reason this got on my nerves like nothing else, well maybe unlike watching bits and pieces of some stupid Rock Hudson film this weekend.  And I just had, and I mean HAD to spew my disgust and issues regarding this fool.  I know that people will tell me that she is just pushing the envelope sort of like Madonna did in her time.  Even though one can or could argue that at least Madonna had some talent to go along with her nutty trend setting.

But for me this fool has neither talent nor taste.  And that is a bad combination to say the least.  Now let’s get a move on to what pisses me off about this so called fashion statement.  We are in a recession and people are finding it hard enough to put food on the table and this idiot wears around food like a dress.  I am not a PETA fan nor am I a big fan of meat, especially red meat.  But, my problem with this chick is that there are so many starving and hungry people and she busts out with an outfit saying who cares that you’re hungry, I have so much money I can wear food until it rots off of me.

I find it insensitive and incredibly tasteless.  I understand that people will cry about the fact that she isn’t saying anything with her dress of meat.  That she is just trying to be outrageous and push the envelope as far as it will go until it literally disintegrates.  I feel that people should be able to do what they want UNLESS it is totally distasteful, insensitive or just plain stupid.  And her antics cover all three.  She should think of those listeners who might be struggling with what the Bush administration referred to as having food insecurity.

But unfortunately to me the only thing that she did was give a middle finger to all the starving or should I say food insecure people all over the world.  Actually I could not care less if this chick had more talent than all the supposed celebrities in the world.  It would not in my humble opinion make her any less ridiculous for her tasteless meaty antics.  Just my two cents and that is all that matters to me.

When Conversations About Race Go Bad

I am getting so sick of the self centered comments that come with talking about race. The first thing that happens when you talk about race is that a lot of white people will inevitably come back with a “but if it happened to a white person…” These comments are just moot since the disparities that I am speaking of don’t happen to whites at least not at the proportion that it happens to blacks. I am sure that problems exist on both sides of the fence. Whites are passed over for jobs, get bad service, hear derogatory names, get pulled over by police and even get shot by the police.

The problem is that blacks are unemployed at twice the rate of whites, businesses are underrepresented with blacks, bad service usually comes with a racial tag, the derogatory names that blacks have to endure were used to subjugate blacks plus injure to a degree that most names a white person is called could ever do, blacks are pulled over continuously for being seen with those black faces, sure whites get shot but blacks get shot far more and in numbers that would put a blush on the face of any self respecting hit man. With the number of bullets put into blacks the cops could shoot up a whole city of white people.

I see that Oregon has decided to add a book about their racist past to the school curriculum. And of course there are white people already up in arms to ask why we have to hear about this. Why don’t we get to hear about all the whites who lost their lives to help civil rights move forward. See this is my point. You can’t have a discussion about anything that shows white people in a bad light without those insecure folks who just HAVE to have some mention of how great white people are. Is it that hard to hear about the terrible things that your race has done? Is it that hard to acknowledge a wrong without throwing in all the good that has been done?

Blacks have to constantly sit and endure the pointing fingers of imputation from not only whites but other blacks as well. The constant barrage of how we need to take responsibility for whatever ails the black community that week. Yet those pointing the finger the hardest are those who have the worst time taking responsibility for the actions of their forefathers and their own community at large. The minute you start looking into how the other half lives it is reverse discrimination and you are a racist. I don’t see one reason why Oregon shouldn’t explore its racist past, present and future. From what I am reading from these people writing about it, it sounds like there is no racism in Oregon. And I know for a fact that this is a blatant lie. No matter how progressive a community feels that they are, racism rears its ugly head here and there with those progressives leading the way.

Maybe if we stop pretending that racism is dead and buried and begin to pt it out in the open it can be dealt with. But of course the dominant course of action seems to be the three d’s, disregard, divert and dilute. Which is what I keep hearing from those that feel to acknowledge anything is race baiting. This is also what I hear a lot. First they disregard and comment on how blacks aren’t the only race to be wronged in the past. Then they want to divert your attention from the wrong doing by accusing the informer of some phony ill such as reverse racism or asking if blacks ever participated in whatever wrong you are discussing. Then of course they dilute the atrocity by throwing out some asinine statement about how many people died in correlation to the ill being spoken of.

You can hear these comments anytime you start speaking about any type of racial situation. I feel that calling them out on these facts will probably go nowhere. What can you do? How do we have a conversation about race when the conversation will undoubtedly always need to be had from a place where no blame should ever be placed on anyone? You can not have a conversation about racist behavior in this country if you constantly have to coddle those benefiting from the racist behavior?

Me Me Me, It’s All About Me And Mine

As I watch CNN amid the news about tornadoes and shootings again Natalee Holloway is making news. Her parents are calling for justice for their daughter. Now I am the first person to say that justice needs to be served in any and all cases of wrong doing. Now the problem I have is that where were these people while justice was being denied to hordes of others?

I have a real issue with the Holloway’s, the Sheehan’s and Mark Pasternak who if you didn’t know won a one hundred fifty thousand dollar lawsuit for reverse racism in New York. The problem I have is that these people could have cared less about the unsolved murders, death’s of other soldiers or the blatant racism against blacks in New York and everywhere else. Yet this is the problem with most of us in America, no one gives a damn until that bird comes home to roost on your house.

The Holloway’s could have given a rat’s butt that Tamika Huston and countless other black and white girls went missing before their daughter. Yet they didn’t have time to care. They had better things to spend their time on. Now they have Blogs, websites geared towards helping them find her, petitions to boycott Aruba, and even petitions to get justice. I am pretty sure that Tamika Huston’s family as well as the family of all the other missing black ladies would love to get in on the websites, Blogs and petitions for justice. As not only do they not get any justice they don’t get nearly a fraction of the air time that the Holloway’s are racking up yearly, monthly and even weekly.

Cindy Sheehan could care less about the soldiers dying over in Iraq before Casey. In fact she was a doting mother praising the war and military like a good little military momma that is before Casey was next to fall prey to the bloodshed. She claims she had a lot going on in her life and was to busy just surviving. All the while praising an unjust, unfair war. Yet after his death she seemed to have all the time in the world. Raising camp Casey, camping outside of the Bush ranch, speaking to hordes of supporters and even going so far as to become a thorn in the paw of the government. Yet I am sure that Cpl. Forest Jostes’ family would like to know why their son was killed right next to Casey who has barely been mentioned let alone given the media coverage.

Mr. Mark Pasternak who experienced insomnia, anxiety and depression and had to take several medical leaves of absence because of the verbal abuse never spoke out for any other racial disparities not even after his win and publicity. Now how many times do you hear people telling blacks to just get over it, hanging nooses are a joke and that whites using nigger shouldn’t hurt anyone. Yet Mark was obviously hurt by his boss calling him a stupid white boy. How come he couldn’t just get over it? And how come he couldn’t just turn the other cheek while the guy continued or better yet why didn’t he just go get another job elsewhere. Shouldn’t we all be asking why is this guy using the race card and all the race baiting?

My whole point is that not one of these people could care one iota for anybody who was in their situation before them and right now as they cry for public support and help. The fact is that these tragedies have been going on around them to minorities who won’t get the publicity has passes right by them all without one bit of acknowledgment. And even though they are going through this now they are in this me, me, and me place of selfishness.

Look what happened to my daughter, look what happened to my poor son, look what the bad man did to me at work.  And what about those people who don’t have a voice or their voices are dismissed and muffled because they have the audacity to cry out with the wrong skin color. These people have failed and are failing to see that the fact that they demand media attention and then get plastered all over the media is a source of injustice.

What Kind Of Vegetable Is A Bacon Bit?

The first day I set foot in this Midwestern city I’m now living in I had the awful encounter with the eating habits of a couple of ladies from my black community. I was hoping that this was not the norm but just a couple of ladies in the severe minority who just had no clue about diet, fat or what constitutes vegetables. I am concerned with the eating habits of my community and the fact that we are seriously on track with America’s killer diet.

I walked into a store that seems to be all over this area and went to the salad bar to make myself lunch. As I stood there picking through the salad greens and different vegetables to add to my salad two ladies walked in and came to the salad bar as well. They were both of a larger stature and one turned to the other when she saw the salad and said “Girl, you know I don’t eat no salad.” The other lady said to her “Girl this is where they have those chicken wings I told you about.” She then bypassed the salad and went to the end of the bar where they house the soups and I guess chicken wings. She piled a container high with BBQ chicken wings and then proceeded to dump a bunch of bacon bits on top of them.

I about fainted as I couldn’t imagine eating the chicken wings let alone bacon bits. I know that this may sound a bit self righteous but I have to admit that I am not a big fan of the meat. I love vegetables and spent part of my life as a vegetarian. Now that I have a family I cook a lot of meat so added chicken, turkey and seafood to my diet. I still do not partake in the red meats or pork. Now I allow people the right to pick and choose their own foods without finger pointing from myself. But, this was just too much for me to handle. Both ladies were talking about weight and dieting yet from what I saw this was the furthest thing from their minds.

Now that I have been living here for a while and getting around to the store doing my grocery shopping I have noticed some seriously terrible facts. For one this isn’t isolated to these two women. I have seen more than my share of some seriously bad food choices by blacks in this community. And that the obesity rate has to be enormous forgive the pun. Second the neighborhoods are full of fast food restaurants which seem to constantly be bursting with people. There are these Chop Suey places all over and you would think “great something low fat.” Nope, this isn’t the Chop Suey you would get at a Chinese restaurant. This is artery clogging, fat dripping, full of salt concoction that seems to be one of those dishes that might cause a coronary right after it has been ingested.

Third thing I noticed was that while in the store shopping there is a serious lack of nutritional foods. There are absolutely no good choices of frozen vegetables. They all seem full of butter or flavor and salt. The snack aisle has a lack of unsalted or baked anything. Looking for popcorn and they had absolutely NONE that wasn’t extra butter or caramel or kettle corn. I like low salt version or just the kind I can pop myself. Also, the fresh foods or healthy foods are so much more expensive than the high fat, sodium foods. I have been accustomed to shopping where I had instant access to whole foods right inside the grocery store. Here I believe that I have to shop in a, forgive the term but, “white” area or at a whole foods grocer which I haven’t found yet.

Now that I have seen this lack of access to correct food choices I have to wonder is the reason the people in this area are choosing this unhealthy food is due to a lack of healthy choices or because of culture. I really don’t feel that it is culture because I see others of our culture making better choices. I believe that with a lack of proper nutrition education, a lack of resources, lack of access to nutritious foods and the higher cost of highly nutritious alternatives makes the killer foods more appealing. Not to mention that in school the meals they serve are high in fat, sodium and low in nutritional value. This fact makes it hard for people to know exactly what types of foods they should be consuming. I would like to see programs started to help people make better food choices.

Sex Slaves In America

The other night my family and I sat down and watched a special on sex slaves in America. The show was about girls actually young ladies who were brought to America from places such as the Ukraine, El Salvador, China and Guatemala under the guise of being offered jobs in industries such as restaurants or housekeeping here. Now I find this abhorrent and extremely sinister and interesting that none of these criminals were black and no phrases were used like white enslavers. But the one thing that struck me was the fact that there were even discrepancies as to how these sex slaves were treated when the deal was busted by the cops. I am also curious as to how these slaves differ in treatment from the American slaves.

I found it interesting that the prosecutor in one of the cases for them said that this was slavery except it was the most egregious kind of slavery, they were sex slaves. As opposed to your run of the mill African slave who was your sex slave and full worker slave. I guess the fact that they got paid cash made their slavery more egregious. Or maybe it was the fact that they weren’t black made the slavery just that much worse than that of the 400 years of black slavery.

There were sex slaves who were brought in from the Ukraine and Russia that were making a thousand dollars a day, not including what was given to the pimps. They were hiding this money and were told that they had to pay the pimp so much money for bringing them to this country. Owing the pimp seemed to be the underlying theme for ALL the women in this situation no matter where they were originally from. The girls from the Ukraine were told that they would be able to pay their pimp off in about six months. Yet before the six months was up a couple of them had fled in the night with a “John” who promised to bust the pimps, which he loyally did.

The girls had been kept in a condo or townhouse and could come and go at will. They did however tell tales of being raped by the pimps whenever they had the inclination. Now that they were freed they were able to find a good life living off the thousand dollars a day bonus they amassed due to their services. They must have had about ninety thousand dollars saved up that was not taken by the government because the story teller explained how they hid the money first. Now they are free American citizens and able to live life like they wanted to in the first place.  Or maybe even better since they had planned on being waitresses who I doubt would have taken home ninety thousand dollars in three months barring some side gig as a sex slave.

Now there is a far different tale from those ladies that were tricked into America from Guatemala, Mexico and Asia. They were making only thirteen dollars from each “John” they were with compared to whatever the girls from the Ukraine etc. were bringing in per “John” to make a thousand dollars a night take home for themselves. These ladies were going to spend years working off the debts they incurred to be brought to America. Yet when the deal was busted instead of being able to go free and tell their tales they were arrested and sentenced to prison. Not only were they forced into being sex slaves they were then jailed for being duped.

I thought this is so indicative of how hypocritical the United States is. People with brown skin will be not only forced into a bad situation but then blamed and punished for it. All the while the white skin people not only got to keep the ill gotten gains, they were treated like the victims they were plus given the help and care they deserved. They were even able to have an audience with congress to discuss the sex slave industry. In contrast the Hispanic slaves were treated to the same disdain that they are treated with from America on a daily basis which is you don’t belong here and you are not worth our help or care but, hurry up and pick our vegetables.

Now to throw a twist in each and every time I talk about and even when I don’t talk about slavery people who comment on my Blog are constantly telling me that blacks should get over slavery it happened it is over so move on. Well I did not once here anyone telling these ladies that had been sex slaves or their children for that matter to move on it’s over and they are now free to live good lives. They told their stories over and over with the same pain they felt having been there. They told of how they don’t feel safe, their children don’t feel safe etc. Their children are forever scarred by this traumatic event and want everyone to know their harrowing stories.

No one told the sex slaves from the Ukraine that they should pull themselves up by their bootstraps and stop crying over something that is clearly over for them. They shouldn’t be rehashing the past and begging for a hand out. They shouldn’t be asking for their captors to be held captive in prisons now in some sort of reverse captive taking akin to some reverse discrimination. No one would be as rude and callous as to say any of these things to these ladies or their children who have suffered so much. Yet saying this to blacks who are still feeling the affects of the trauma is not a big deal. As we have seen from this show it is fine to harass the victim just so long as that victim is a person of color.

Does Affirmative Action Hurt

As I receive a plethora of comments for my posts about Ron Paul I have noticed a theme to the ones that talk about affirmative action. Somehow people are equating affirmative action with some sort of hand out or some sort of mandated free job system for all these unqualified opportunistic blacks who don’t deserve to have them. Now I personally equate these comments to racist mindsets. I feel this is due to the fact that if they didn’t already feel that blacks were unworthy of the jobs that they do receive.

Now what exactly makes these people think that the blacks are getting jobs that they aren’t qualified for? I have never nor has anyone I know ever been able to fall into a job that they were not qualified for. This is just more racist thinking that many have and refuse to acknowledge as such. I have repeatedly asked these people to explain why these blacks are unqualified or how and where these jobs were gotten.

With the thinking that no blacks are ever qualified this is contrary to the truth. Blacks getting jobs usually have to be twice as qualified as the next person in order to get the jobs they are going for, affirmative action or not. Just like one commenter said, blacks have to work twice as hard to prove to whites that they are worthy. I have to laugh that people are so quick to judge all blacks as unqualified even though they don’t know the qualifications of just a hand full of any particular blacks.

So from what they are saying, blacks just want a handout, that we should be shamed to be given something for nothing. When did trying to get a job become wanting a handout? Is it a handout when white people are applying for a job, of course not because it is accepted that they would be qualified for any job they apply for. Yet they turn right around and tell me of the racist nature of affirmative action.

When has anyone ever talked about the affirmative action that whites receive? All the while blacks were kept from the workforce due to Jim Crow and other racist programs aimed at preserving white domination in the workforce. Why are they not complaining about all the white women who are benefiting even more from affirmative action than any black person?

We have been led to believe that all the while whites have benefited from their own brand of affirmative action it is somehow now a problem when there is a program aimed at someone other than white males. We as blacks should somehow be ashamed that someone was trying to come up with something, anything that would even the playing field between white males and minorities even though it is woefully inadequate.

I understand that people feel that this is nothing more than a handout that disenfranchises white males. Because we all know that white males have such a hard time finding jobs in this white male dominated marketplace. By all accounts if affirmative action is this big job handout program there really shouldn’t be any unemployed black who have applied for more than one job. Since if the jobs are being handed out the first one they applied for would be theirs no questions asked. Yet we know full well that blacks or over represented on the unemployment lines.

Should we believe this is due to the fact that blacks somehow don’t want jobs? Even these free handout jobs that they don’t even have to be qualified for. I suppose that I should just clear the air and let people know that the Eddie Murphy movie Trading Places was a joke. Black homeless people really aren’t being snatched off the streets and thrown into the lap of luxury running a stock brokerage firm. Yet this is what comes to mind when some people talk about how blacks are receiving these handouts in the form of employment. Or the fact that they are saying that blacks are not qualified yet they got the job at the expense of a more qualified white man.

Affirmative action is a catchall phrase referring to laws, customs, and social policies intended to alleviate the types of discrimination that limit opportunities for a variety of demographic groups in various social institutions. And for us to believe that these laws, customs and social policies are hurting people you would have to first believe that the playing field for all people is an even one. Yet if you believe that then you would need to explain a whole slew of other problems facing our society. Such as blacks only earn 78% of what whites earn, blacks are still under represented in all facets of corporate America and black unemployment is more than double that of white unemployment.

These discrepancies between blacks and whites are just the tip of the iceberg. There are tons of other “documented” differences that can’t be explained away with blacks just don’t want to do better etc. A person named Ana who replied to my Blog once said “what group? white people are not a ‘group’ that has some special, common interest. white people are individuals whose foremost concerns is their own good and the good of their families and friends – not the good of other white people.

This is exactly my point if every white person is doing what Ana said, whites are looking out for the concerns of their friends and families who happen to be white like them. This is the epitome of the white privilege or white affirmative action of which I speak. And for Ana to say this is showing her protection of the white group and how they do come together to protect the group Yet a black person having affirmative action which is a suggestion of sorts that if they are most qualified for a position they will not be passed over merely for the color of their skin. But the facts show that this so called suggestion has no real teeth. Blacks are constantly passed over and this is due to the ingrained thinking that most whites have that blacks are unqualified, unworthy and thus undeserving of whatever employment they are seeking.

Ron Paul – Racist Babble or Forward Thinking?

Neither Ron Paul nor his supporters surprise me with the plethora of racially motivated speech that they babble. I recently did a post on the blatant racist nature of what Ron Paul stands for and what I got for that was a gaggle of racist Paul supporters who have nothing but racist rhetoric to spew much like their candidate.

I had one person who seemed to think that for a black not to not vote for Ron Paul would be for us to doom our brothers to stay in prison for drug crimes. Since supposedly Ron Paul would like to end the war on drugs and thus this somehow equates to blacks being let out of prison in droves. Now what makes this fool think that the black community wants to have criminals running free just because they are black? What about the whites who are in prison for drug crime are they going free as well, and is this the goal of the white community? So why should it be of such importance to the blacks?

Here are some other comments from Ron Paul showing his unending support for the black community. And I would hope that all Ron supporters who claim that he is FOR the black community would wake up and explain how these comments help us. And for that they can explain how these comments are not just more racist rhetoric that is constantly being hurled at us. Ron Paul is nothing more than a simple minded racist who is trying to play both sides of the fence. He is staying true to his racist brethren while blatantly trying his best to get a foot hold with black supporters who are woefully uneducated to the statements and real agenda of this man and his supporters.

Regardless of what the media tell us, most white Americans are not going to believe that they are at fault for what blacks have done to cities across America. The professional blacks may have cowed the elites, but good sense survives at the grass roots. Many more are going to have difficultly avoiding the belief that our country is being destroyed by a group of actual and potential terrorists — and they can be identified by the color of their skin. This conclusion may not be entirely fair, but it is, for many, entirely unavoidable.

Indeed, it is shocking to consider the uniformity of opinion among blacks in this country. Opinion polls consistently show that only about 5% of blacks have sensible political opinions, i.e. support the free market, individual liberty, and the end of welfare and affirmative action…. Given the inefficiencies of what D.C. laughingly calls the “criminal justice system,” I think we can safely assume that 95% of the black males in that city are semi-criminal or entirely criminal.

If similar in-depth studies were conducted in other major cities, who doubts that similar results would be produced? We are constantly told that it is evil to be afraid of black men, but it is hardly irrational. Black men commit murders, rapes, robberies, muggings, and burglaries all out of proportion to their numbers.

Perhaps the L.A. experience should not be surprising. The riots, burning, looting, and murders are only a continuation of 30 years of racial politics. The looting in L.A. was the welfare state without the voting booth. The elite have sent one message to black America for 30 years: you are entitled to something for nothing. That’s what blacks got on the streets of L.A. for three days in April. Only they didn’t ask their Congressmen to arrange the transfer.

This entire spill was taken from the Daily Kos. I am only interested in finding out how with such statements this man could possibly be capable of doing good things to end the racial problems in America. He seems more adept at adding to the racial tensions by the use of his racial rhetoric than any thing else. Is this more racist babble or the forward thinking that most of his supporters keep speaking of. To me it sounds more like the speech of past and present racists. If any supporters would like to comment to these blatant racist statements please stay on topic as this Blog is not an open forum for hate speech.
