Why Blacks Support The Trayvon Martin Case?

What is it about the Trayvon Martin case that a lot of people just don’t get?  I was reading a news story about an old white man who was beaten by a group of 6 black boys after saying to them…Remember Trayvon Martin.  And the 6 black youths were arrested and are now in jail awaiting trial.

But, yet people continuously want to point out Al Sharpton’s involvement with the Tawana Brawley fiasco or the Duke LaCrosse case.  As if these two incidents are the quintessential equivalents of the Trayvon Martin case.  Or somehow because a black person made false claims in these two cases, the case against Zimmerman is either false or somehow irrelevant.

And people are also making other comments about the 6 black youths vs. white man such as “if this were the other way around, it would be seen as a hate crime”  or “Were is the FBI? Jesse? Sharpton? and every one else? Rally to take place at the Toledo Police station Monday april 9th at noon to demand justice in this case please be there. OK.  Who reading this is wondering to themselves at this very moment “what lack of justice are they speaking of that needs to be had in this case?”  What exactly is it that is causing a problem for Mike shown above who is looking to go to a rally for justice in a case?  It can’t be the fact that the alleged perpetrators are in jail, it can’t be that the wheels of justice are turning and quite quickly I might add.  So is the only thing that would spell justice for Mike, would be for black people to rally around this white man and denounce the actions of the 6 black youths?  Something he obviously has yet to do for Trayvon.

OK, Mike, for what it is worth…I think that it was horrible for those black kids to beat up this white man for whatever reasons they have.  I hope that when all the evidence is revealed that it doesn’t show that they felt threatened when the man said to them to remember Trayvon Martin.  Which he claimed was his way to, as he said; to show them we are all on the same side.

Because, unfortunately, if some white man said that to me, I would be fearful he was planning to make ME the next Trayvon Martin.  And I would interpret him to mean DEAD.  And thus might feel the need to protect myself from this could/would be Zimmerman knockoff.  So, I guess that could be an excuse for them.  Maybe, but we see there is no lack of excuses for Zimmerman as well.

I guess he (Mike) wants to see hate crime charges brought.  That is fine “if” that is what he wants.  But, at least he has solace in seeing the wheels of justice moving, the alleged perpetrators in jail and an actual investigation being done.  And all this being done WITHOUT the victim’s family going to extreme measures of rallying a public outrage to get the same justice.  Somehow this white victim just has the luxury of this justice automatically.

I would love for Mike there to show me the one case where a white person be it man, woman or child who was killed by a black man and that black man was allowed to go home WITH the murder weapon the same night as the killing, and no further questions asked by the police of that case.  And the case closed after 7 hours of investigation that did NOT include any forensic, DNA, witness statements nor any other form of evidence outside of the perpetrators lone statement?  I would LOVE for someone to dig that case up.

For anyone who is confused as to WHY black people are on board this case, it is because the crime was just set aside and no one wanted to look into it any further.  This man whether white or Hispanic or as he classified himself white Hispanic, man killed an innocent unarmed person without any investigation to corroborate his story was allowed to go free.  And the police had attempted to force the parents into accepting that the man killed their unarmed son in self-defense without a shred of evidence to back that statement up.

I don’t think that anyone would sit idly by and allow that to go unchallenged if that were their child or if this was some white kid walking in a predominantly black area and the black man were the alleged perpetrator.  That is why this is so raw for the black community.  This is NOT the first case of an unarmed black person shot dead at the hands of a person who did not get arrested, charged or eventually ruled innocent of any wrong doing.

And it is frankly unbelievable to me that anyone even needs to spell this out to them.  I can’t believe that it is so hard to fathom why black people are calling for justice.  Why is it so hard for some to identify with an obvious injustice no matter the race of the people?  If the people heard this travesty without hearing the race of the people would they have a hard time understanding the outrage then?

Is this a case of willful ignorance in order to justify a group mentality that has always deemed the black man a threat no matter what situation we see them in?  We have to keep black people under control no matter what the cost, situation or outcome of that situation.  A lot of white people thought Rodney King was in control even though he was surrounded by 7 police officers who were beating him with batons as he lie on the ground.  And a jury still believed that he could have stopped them at any moment.

A woman named Tarika Wilson was shot to death THROUGH her one year old baby and the cops who did it were deemed to have acted appropriated because of course this black woman holding a baby was still a threat to the police even though again unarmed.  How many times do we need to see this very crime perpetrated upon members of the black community while those from the predominant white community make statements that it was understandable based on the so called fact that the white/non-black person pulling the trigger was in fear of an unarmed black who supposedly had all the control.

We allow the dominant predominantly white community to cry that blacks are so scary it is understandable that they pull the trigger when facing a black person in any type situation even if the story sound as outlandish as Zimmerman’s tall tales.  When does the opposite occur in that blacks become so fearful of white people that we jump the gun in defense of ourselves against them?

Would this new reversal of fear be acceptable and we can then justify doing nothing at all or hearing about nothing being done and have so many members of society agree that it was justifiable to do nothing.  Would we ever then see the members of predominantly white society see a case where Zimmerman is black and Trayvon is white and then tell the outraged people to just have a look at whatever case is out there at the moment which shows a white person killing or harming a black person and ask them why they aren’t outraged over that as well; even when the cases are ridiculously different.

It won’t happen because somehow we are again under a group mentality that white people are NOT a monolith.  If one commits a crime, doesn’t mean I must fear them ALL.  Yet, blacks do not, and have never gotten that same consideration.  And in fact we deem blacks as negative actors even when the perpetrators are white.  We have so many Susan Smith’s, Bonnie Sweeten’s, Ashley Todd’s, Bethany Storro’s, Michael Daragjati’s, Mary Turcotte’s, Charles Stuart’s and Brian Wells’ out there to feed this very stereotype for the masses like crack addicts scurrying for the last rock of crack.

How do we stop this?  How do we back away from the precipice that we see ourselves on at this very moment?  We all need to take a step back and understand that it is beyond time to start seeing things through the eyes of our black citizens as we already do those of our predominantly white majority.

Should Religious Beliefs Trump Legal Rights?

People such as Rose Marie Belforti pictured above, the town clerk in Ledyard NY decided that she just can’t give out marriage licenses to gay couples due to her religion so she did just that, told a lesbian couple they will need to come back and get that license when one of her subordinates could do it for them.

Now, unfortunately I don’t believe that she was hired to a job in government due to her religion or based on her religion.  Her religion is her religion and that is something for her to keep to herself at her home.  She actually has no right to bring her philosophical beliefs to the workplace and infringe on others rights.  Belforti says state law “protects my right to hold both my job and my beliefs.”

Where state law DOES protect her right to hold her beliefs, it DOESN’T protect her from failing to do her job.  That right there should have this fool kicking up dust all the way to the unemployment office where someone there should deny her service because their god says only pretty people need be served.  And you know what I’m talkin’ bout’, just look at her.  And my god says it is my right to call it like I see it!

The bible says in Genesis 3:16 – “I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children.  So me being a nurse, would she be in support of me denying her or her daughter’s call for pain medication during the delivery of a child.  Should I say that in good Christian faith, I can’t get her any pain medication nor call an anesthesiologist due to my Christian beliefs which says that women should be in extreme pain during childbirth?  And that her or her daughter will have to wait eight hours or more until my shift ends before they can have their pain alleviated due to my beliefs, is that acceptable to her.

People are so hypocritical.  It is becoming much more prevalent these days.  I want to deny people rights they have under the law based on my fucked up views of religion etc.  All the while expecting others to respect their rights not only to do everything they want to do that complies with the law.  She would never understand a teacher at her daughter’s school saying that he can’t teach her because his religious views say that women shouldn’t be allowed to be educated.  And that her daughter will need to wait until she can get into another teacher’s class who will tolerate females being educated.  She would expect this male teacher be fired, or disciplined in some way.

This woman should be fired.  It is not her place to bring her religion to work.  It is not her right to force her beliefs on anyone else.  It IS her job to hand out marriage licenses not to administer religious teaching.  And it is high time that we put a stop to these people who feel that their rights trump everyone else’s rights.  There is nothing written in the constitution placing anyone person’s rights above another.  Well except when we are dealing with black folks, but that’s another story isn’t it.

Where does it stop?  Do we have to be subject to others views of the bible which can be pretty damaging?  When does the stoning start?  Do I get to tell my boss that even though I am required to work on the Sabbath, I won’t and I should not only keep my job but be paid because they can’t infringe upon my religious rights?  And then should I be able to stone people to death for working on the Sabbath?  Because we all know that in Numbers 15:32-56 it does say that Moses was told by god to stone a man to death for gathering sticks on the Sabbath.  Hey, it’s my right under the bible and the state can’t stand in the way of my religious rights!

We have to set precedence or there is no stopping the things that one can do under the guise of bible worship.  I can stone my son to death for being insolent as it gives me full right to do in Deuteronomy 21:18-21.  This crap is going way too far and it is infringing on the rights of other humans to live their lives as the constitution said We hold these truths to be self–evident, That all men are created equal, That they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, That among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.– That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, Deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.

It clearly says that the government and I would assume the workers there in, derive their powers from the consent of the governed NOT from the bible, god nor Christian churches or any other churches.  So it is about time to knock some sense into these people.  Kick her butt out of that position and place someone there that understands that the power they possess are given by the people who consist of gays, blacks, Asians, whites, Muslims, Hispanics and every other race, religion or creed.  Come on people get over your petty discrimination already!  And that means you Rose Marie Belforti!

Reading Goes A Long Way!

Here is a comment that I just had to share with everyone else.  This is one of the reasons we as supposed black people can’t get our situation better.  We are too busy fighting each other on behalf of the majority part of our society.  This comment was posted to my post titled “Arguments as to why blacks don’t deserve respect.”

I could not finish this article because it didn’t take long to realize you are using the same old arguments that try to throw the reader off the track and thus focus on side issues that have only a passing relevance to the topic at hand.

You base your entire argument on the premise that white control everything, including blacks’ ability to create their own opportunities. So what if a black man can’t get a loan from a white banker? Why are there not more BLACK banks that will fill this void?

So what if an educated black man gets less respect in the hob market than a white criminal? Why are there not more BLACK firms doing the hiring? Whites have a right to hire those who “look like them” (That’s the SOTOMAYER PRINCIPLE, you know?).

As for the numbers on the amount of criminals in jails, I would imagine researchers only need to check the rolls at the prisons and jails and they will probably find out that the numbers don’t lie.

Black people seem to feel that the world owes us an opportunity, and that we should not only fight for a level playing field, but to make sure that we are the only ones playing.

It is my contention that the MAIN reason blacks don’t get more respect is because we just don’t EARN it.

PUHLEASE!!! Why don’t you answer those questions for us all? Why aren’t there more black banks?  Uhm, could it be that they don’t get the funding or the recognition to become successful?

And why aren’t there more black businesses? Could the answer be tied in with why there aren’t more black banks? See you work from the same old tired argument that somehow it is black people’s fault that they can’t break into a white run society. Or are you telling me that society is NOT run by the white majority?

So what is your point?  You seem to have the whole thing figured out.  Because, if there are no black banks and black men are NOT getting as much respect as white criminals then how are there going to be more black businesses? Think about it for a little while.  And wouldn’t this be a revolving problem, each and every piece contributing to the problem of the other?

So I guess it’s not a matter of “so what” like you seem to think. It’s a matter of WHY! Why in the hell should blacks have to go to black businesses in order to be hired or respected? We don’t live in some black bubble inside the white US of A. We live in this country as full tax paying citizens like everyone else and deserve equal treatment.  By the way, I never said that blacks are OWED anything.  What I DID say was that blacks DESERVE the same chances as everyone else.  We deserve the same odds at success and failure.

But according to you and a lot of others just asking for things to be equal is begging for a handout or being owed something. If the treatment white people get is a handout then by all means I and every other minority are OWED that freaking type of handout. And just to let you know, I don’t agree with everything said by Sotomayor or anyone else at any table be they civil rights or otherwise. I DO have my own point of view thank you.

As far as whites being able to hire whoever they want, isn’t that racism if the only deciding factor for hiring is that the person is white?  Isn’t this how we got into this debacle in the first place?  White people decided that blacks were NOT equal and didn’t deserve jobs in white owned businesses?

And maybe numbers don’t lie about how many people are in jail, but the justice system as a whole DOES!  And according to a study by the DOJ, they found that the justice system was indeed wrought with inequality and racism. So I guess the numbers just might not tell the whole truth.

And my contention is that black people don’t get more respect because people such as you think that we don’t deserve it.  Somehow we need to do more than everyone else to garner what little respect we get.  At this point we have to work three times as hard and five times as fast just to be considered equal with the lowest of performers in the white community.  And you don’t see a problem with this?

We shouldn’t have to do any more to earn respect than any other race of person. And if by that, they do nothing to garner respect as in white privilege then we shouldn’t have to do one iota more than that. That is what is meant by equality. So it would behoove you to FINISH reading the post before you spout off with your LACK of knowledge and all too easy to counter NON points!

Lying To The Top Using Privilege

Thanks to a link from the Engineer, I have been looking into the fact that a LOT of these white top executives have and are lying about their resumes.  This is just more of the blatant privilege that a lot of white people will deny even exist.

The reason this is privilege is because they were taken at their word without any scouring and searching that most minorities have to endure before qualifying for a job.  These companies did no checking, no inquiring as to the legitimacy of these people’s resume claims.

With a little research, that maybe these companies SHOULD have done, I have found that this is a bigger problem than is being reported.  And when it is being reported we see that it is being called things like “fudging on their resume” or “incorrectly advised.”  This wording makes it sound cute, when it is anything but cute.  These were out and out lies, blatant fraud.

We constantly wish to talk of the deviance of this or that minority and pretending as if cases and situations like these don’t exist.  I actually doubt very seriously if a lot of prominent black, Latino or some other minority were to be busted lying and committing fraud in order to gain employment or promotions would be held up for the entire country to point the finger at.

The latest transgressor is the COO of Perma Fix named Larry McNamara.  They will think of some form of appropriate actions other than firing because they feel that somehow he was still well qualified even without a college education.  This is yet another revelation of white men being qualified over all those college educated minorities, just like Devah Pager’s study.

They are qualified even after displaying that they have very little honesty, integrity, moral value or trustworthiness that should be expected of anyone who is in a position of power.  Why don’t we start weeding out these impostors and replace them with well qualified individuals who HAVE busted their tails to get that education, experience or other qualifications no matter their race, gender, creed or sexual orientation?

Here is just a small listing of these unqualified white men who have been hired over more qualified minorities and others:

Ronald Zarrella, Bausch & Lomb, CEO – falsely claimed an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

George O’Leary, ex-Notre Dame Football Coach – falsely claimed to have a master’s degree in education from New York University and to have played college football and earned three letters while doing so.

Marilee Jones, Admissions Dean for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) – falsely claimed to be a “scientist with degrees in biology from Rennselaar Polytechnic Institute and the Albany Medical College,” and to have her doctorate.

Kenneth Lonchar, CFO of Veritas software – falsely claimed he earned an accounting degree from Arizona State University and was a Stanford MBA graduate.

Jeff Papows, CEO of Lotus Corporation – falsified his military record (he was a lieutenant not a captain), feigned his education (he doesn’t have a Ph.D. from Pepperdine University) and claimed he was an orphan (his parents are alive and well).

Dave Edmondson, CEO of RadioShack – falsified his résumé by claiming to have a degree in psychology from Pacific Coast Baptist College in California (though the school doesn’t offer a psychology program), along with a degree in theology from the same unaccredited college.

Bryan J. Mitchell, Chairmen of MCG Capital – falsely claimed that he was a graduate of Syracuse University.

And last but not least James J. Minder, Chairman of the Board of gun manufacturer, Smith & Wesson Corporation. But it was revealed that Minder had served some 15 years in prison in the 1950s and 60s for a series of armed robberies and an attempted escape.

And somehow this man is a better qualified candidate than the plethora of other people who kept their noses clean and actually did graduate from college.  When we stop allowing “this” type of affirmative action to take place, then maybe we won’t need any other type of affirmative action.

But we know that this type of affirmative action is never quite as offensive as the false thinking of a black person sneaking into the old boys’ network while being totally unqualified.  But we can always extend a break for those who lie their way to the top using privilege.

No Surprise A White Cop Shoots Black Cop

Scenario we’ve seen over and over again white cop, dead black man.  This scenario only differs because the black man just so happens to be a fellow police officer himself.  And of course now an investigation needs to be done in order to see whether this shooting had to do with race.  Really?  You think that white police officers are out gunning down white people left and right?

We have ALL seen police footage of white men holding guns, threatening people and cops and still NOT be gunned down.  They try and reason with the man, give him every opportunity to be taken down without bloodshed.  But somehow when the person is black not only do they get 50 or so bullets, but they get them without so much as a 5 minute window between being seen and being shot.

Have these city and police officials ever watched the video of the white cop abusing what he thought was just some random black man walking where the white cop felt he shouldn’t be?  And didn’t this random black man turn out to be a cop himself?  Was this race related, what a joke!  If this was a white man chasing a white man, the white cop would have stopped everyone involved and questioned them to no end, getting down to the nitty gritty of the situation.

It wasn’t just a case of cops being overzealous and shooting who they thought was a perpetrator like people are already saying. The black cop named Edwards actually called the crime in to the police before chasing the suspect down the street.  So why didn’t Edwards just unload his gun into this suspect if this is just what cops do?  He did what he was supposed to do; he did what ALL cops should do with ALL people black, white or whatever.  He did his best to protect and serve, not shoot and kill.

We are constantly making excuses, constantly doing investigations and constantly finding these white cops innocent of any and all murder charges after needlessly gunning down some black man in the street.  Whether he is an innocent man on his way home from the grocery store holding a bag of groceries, a man out with friends at a bachelor party, a kid walking down the street holding a candy bar or a black cop trying to subdue a suspect, our black men are walking around with shoot me signs plastered all over them which is synonymous with black skin.

People can talk all day about how mistakes are made.  Why are the cops not making these innocent mistakes with white men and women?  Why are these types of mistakes always directed at the brown and black folks?  And don’t tell me that it is because minorities commit more crimes.  We have seen that this is NOT the case.  The people being shot haven’t even committed a crime let alone fit any stereotype of a person who has.  I guess unless you count being a black or brown minority person.

This has got to stop!  And people wonder why minorities don’t trust the police.  Why should we trust a gang of people who are constantly coming into our neighborhoods under the guise of helpers who then turn around and shoot our innocent neighbors.  And don’t talk about the suspected criminals who are shot.  Because the last time I checked you are innocent UNTIL proven guilty.  So when an unarmed man is gunned down only to be implicated in a crime makes no sense since the cops did NOT know he/she was guilty of anything.  Not to mention don’t we give people a fair trial before we sentence them to death.  Again this has got to stop!

Why Buy Black?

I have been seeing a lot of posts being written about the buy black experiment.  Basically there is a group of blacks who are deciding that they are going to do the majority of their purchases from black people in their black communities.  Now the problem people seem to be having with this is that they feel it is discriminatory.  People feel that by deciding to support blacks in their own communities they are hurting others.

Now the problem I have with these people and their thinking is that no one ever complains about other races of people who do the majority of their shopping in their own community.  Somehow it only becomes problematic when black people decide that they will support people from their own community.  Why is that?  Why is it that black people are always expected to give the majority of their business to white owned or other?

When are these bloggers going to write a post declaring China towns across the nation as a cradle of racism?  Now California is full of Spanish communities where Hispanics shop and buy close to exclusively.  No one feels that this is discriminatory because somehow we all feel that they are a close knit community just like the many Korea towns, Italian areas etc.  No one cares that any of these people by deciding to buy from their own communities are helping to strengthening their communities.

I don’t see very many white people going out of their way to drive their butts into the black community and patronizing the black owned businesses there. But, I suppose they feel it is only reasonable for blacks to leave their neighborhoods in order to make sure they patronize a rainbow coalition of businesses.

Are these white people who are claiming this is racist bringing their children to black owned daycares?  Do the majority of white people call the black run insurance person, car dealer, real estate agent or any other black businesses?  How many of them decide that it is important to them to spend their money with a rainbow coalition of businesses?   And I don’t think that going to the neighborhood Chinese, Japanese or Korean restaurant counts.

We all know that they don’t.  If they did, then black businesses wouldn’t be going under, they would be doing a lot better and there wouldn’t be a need to push this buy black agenda.  It never fails that people will turn this into some sort of finger pointing adventure.  Not even giving one thought to how they themselves contribute to the need for black businesses to be supported by black people.

When we complain that blacks are being passed over for employment within white owned businesses, we hear that blacks should get their own businesses.  As soon as a black person decide OK, they WILL patronize businesses in their own neighborhood all of a sudden they are racist.  Blacks are damned if they do, damned if they don’t.

And I have yet to see ONE white person cross that divide and do their business with the black businesses in the “black area”.   Did they decide they would only buy white?  Or are they doing what white people have done the last decades blacks have been able to own businesses, continue to shop white.

Black businesses are disappearing left and right.  But according to these bloggers that is fine as long as black people don’t decide to make it a priority to buy from those in their neighborhoods.  We can go down the list of communities who patronize those of their neighborhoods.  We are already being chastised for living in black neighborhoods, now we are being chastised for wanting to spend our money in black neighborhoods.

Pork Industry Hogwashing Swine Flu

People are getting sick from what has been termed the swine flu. The WHO (World Health Organization) has come out today and raised the threat level of this to 5; saying that a pandemic is eminent. And all the pork industry can think about is how this is going to hurt pork sales and how to spin this pesky problem away.

It seems that the pork industry and thus their lobbyist are growing angry at this name questioning whether the term “swine flu” is appropriate, given that the new virus has not yet been isolated in samples taken from pigs in Mexico or elsewhere. They are complaining because this flu doesn’t ONLY have swine flu genetic material but avian and human as well. As if what they said makes much of a difference when the WHO has already deemed that it has the majority of its genetic material stems from swine flu.

They already are trying to term this the “Mexican flu” if that isn’t a farce and downright ridiculous. It is almost as ridiculous as Jackass Jones otherwise known as Michelle Malkin saying that the flu is because of Mexicans running across the borders. When we all know that so far the majority of people who have been infected were due to American’s who have just recently come back from Mexico bringing the virus with them.

Yet, isn’t this typical of our so called equality driven society to start trying to blatantly lie, cheat and malign in order to slap the blame on one marginalized group of people. If this flu blew in from Norway I doubt if anyone would be trying to call this the Nordic or Norwegian flu. I mean hell they didn’t call the “BLACK plague” the European flu.

We already know that this did not originate in Mexico as millions of pigs died from the swine flu in China a few years ago. No one is exactly sure how the disease jumped from pigs to humans but since it has shouldn’t we be concentrating on helping people combat this rather than looking for someone to blame? Shouldn’t the pork industry spend its bucket loads of dollars helping to squash this disease rather than on pointing the finger away from themselves?

No matter what happens it always seems to fall back to being socially conscious rather than the selfish self centered greedy pig headed companies that we can’t seem to rid ourselves of. If we all could stop throwing around the term Socialist as if it were somehow associated with the plague or swine flu, maybe we could be a bit more social and help each other. But I am sure we all know that this type of thinking is a bunch of hogwash.
