Why Blacks Support The Trayvon Martin Case?

What is it about the Trayvon Martin case that a lot of people just don’t get?  I was reading a news story about an old white man who was beaten by a group of 6 black boys after saying to them…Remember Trayvon Martin.  And the 6 black youths were arrested and are now in jail awaiting trial.

But, yet people continuously want to point out Al Sharpton’s involvement with the Tawana Brawley fiasco or the Duke LaCrosse case.  As if these two incidents are the quintessential equivalents of the Trayvon Martin case.  Or somehow because a black person made false claims in these two cases, the case against Zimmerman is either false or somehow irrelevant.

And people are also making other comments about the 6 black youths vs. white man such as “if this were the other way around, it would be seen as a hate crime”  or “Were is the FBI? Jesse? Sharpton? and every one else? Rally to take place at the Toledo Police station Monday april 9th at noon to demand justice in this case please be there. Please email me at mikeXXXX@yahoo.com if you plan to attend!”

OK.  Who reading this is wondering to themselves at this very moment “what lack of justice are they speaking of that needs to be had in this case?”  What exactly is it that is causing a problem for Mike shown above who is looking to go to a rally for justice in a case?  It can’t be the fact that the alleged perpetrators are in jail, it can’t be that the wheels of justice are turning and quite quickly I might add.  So is the only thing that would spell justice for Mike, would be for black people to rally around this white man and denounce the actions of the 6 black youths?  Something he obviously has yet to do for Trayvon.

OK, Mike, for what it is worth…I think that it was horrible for those black kids to beat up this white man for whatever reasons they have.  I hope that when all the evidence is revealed that it doesn’t show that they felt threatened when the man said to them to remember Trayvon Martin.  Which he claimed was his way to, as he said; to show them we are all on the same side.

Because, unfortunately, if some white man said that to me, I would be fearful he was planning to make ME the next Trayvon Martin.  And I would interpret him to mean DEAD.  And thus might feel the need to protect myself from this could/would be Zimmerman knockoff.  So, I guess that could be an excuse for them.  Maybe, but we see there is no lack of excuses for Zimmerman as well.

I guess he (Mike) wants to see hate crime charges brought.  That is fine “if” that is what he wants.  But, at least he has solace in seeing the wheels of justice moving, the alleged perpetrators in jail and an actual investigation being done.  And all this being done WITHOUT the victim’s family going to extreme measures of rallying a public outrage to get the same justice.  Somehow this white victim just has the luxury of this justice automatically.

I would love for Mike there to show me the one case where a white person be it man, woman or child who was killed by a black man and that black man was allowed to go home WITH the murder weapon the same night as the killing, and no further questions asked by the police of that case.  And the case closed after 7 hours of investigation that did NOT include any forensic, DNA, witness statements nor any other form of evidence outside of the perpetrators lone statement?  I would LOVE for someone to dig that case up.

For anyone who is confused as to WHY black people are on board this case, it is because the crime was just set aside and no one wanted to look into it any further.  This man whether white or Hispanic or as he classified himself white Hispanic, man killed an innocent unarmed person without any investigation to corroborate his story was allowed to go free.  And the police had attempted to force the parents into accepting that the man killed their unarmed son in self-defense without a shred of evidence to back that statement up.

I don’t think that anyone would sit idly by and allow that to go unchallenged if that were their child or if this was some white kid walking in a predominantly black area and the black man were the alleged perpetrator.  That is why this is so raw for the black community.  This is NOT the first case of an unarmed black person shot dead at the hands of a person who did not get arrested, charged or eventually ruled innocent of any wrong doing.

And it is frankly unbelievable to me that anyone even needs to spell this out to them.  I can’t believe that it is so hard to fathom why black people are calling for justice.  Why is it so hard for some to identify with an obvious injustice no matter the race of the people?  If the people heard this travesty without hearing the race of the people would they have a hard time understanding the outrage then?

Is this a case of willful ignorance in order to justify a group mentality that has always deemed the black man a threat no matter what situation we see them in?  We have to keep black people under control no matter what the cost, situation or outcome of that situation.  A lot of white people thought Rodney King was in control even though he was surrounded by 7 police officers who were beating him with batons as he lie on the ground.  And a jury still believed that he could have stopped them at any moment.

A woman named Tarika Wilson was shot to death THROUGH her one year old baby and the cops who did it were deemed to have acted appropriated because of course this black woman holding a baby was still a threat to the police even though again unarmed.  How many times do we need to see this very crime perpetrated upon members of the black community while those from the predominant white community make statements that it was understandable based on the so called fact that the white/non-black person pulling the trigger was in fear of an unarmed black who supposedly had all the control.

We allow the dominant predominantly white community to cry that blacks are so scary it is understandable that they pull the trigger when facing a black person in any type situation even if the story sound as outlandish as Zimmerman’s tall tales.  When does the opposite occur in that blacks become so fearful of white people that we jump the gun in defense of ourselves against them?

Would this new reversal of fear be acceptable and we can then justify doing nothing at all or hearing about nothing being done and have so many members of society agree that it was justifiable to do nothing.  Would we ever then see the members of predominantly white society see a case where Zimmerman is black and Trayvon is white and then tell the outraged people to just have a look at whatever case is out there at the moment which shows a white person killing or harming a black person and ask them why they aren’t outraged over that as well; even when the cases are ridiculously different.

It won’t happen because somehow we are again under a group mentality that white people are NOT a monolith.  If one commits a crime, doesn’t mean I must fear them ALL.  Yet, blacks do not, and have never gotten that same consideration.  And in fact we deem blacks as negative actors even when the perpetrators are white.  We have so many Susan Smith’s, Bonnie Sweeten’s, Ashley Todd’s, Bethany Storro’s, Michael Daragjati’s, Mary Turcotte’s, Charles Stuart’s and Brian Wells’ out there to feed this very stereotype for the masses like crack addicts scurrying for the last rock of crack.

How do we stop this?  How do we back away from the precipice that we see ourselves on at this very moment?  We all need to take a step back and understand that it is beyond time to start seeing things through the eyes of our black citizens as we already do those of our predominantly white majority.

Mall Murdering Misfit’s Transformation

mall.jpg

Isn’t this an interesting turn of events that Robert Hawkins is all over the news after killing eight people and wounding five others, is being talked about as if he was such a tortured soul and worthy of our sympathy. Yet what sympathy was shown for Kiehl Coppin who also had mental problems yet was shot by police in a hail of twenty bullets after seeing what they thought was a gun which in reality was only a hairbrush. What do we know of his background except the fact that the police claim he said over and over that he “wanted” to die.

As I watch the news this morning every station is doing stories on Robert Hawkins background, the fact that he broke up with his girlfriend, lost his job and overall felt like a burden to those around him. Now tell me again what was the problem with Kiehl Coppin? What was his dilemma that caused him to act out on that faithful day the cops decided he needed twenty bullets as the cure. How many people did Kiehl kill that made him so detested by the news who could only point the finger at him and say that he “was” the problem. He as well as Robert couldn’t get healthcare for their mental dilemmas yet only one of them is seen as a case for why mental health needs closer scrutiny.

One news caster actually stated “how sad this young life ended feeling so tortured that he actually had to pick up a gun and do something so heinous to feel he mattered.” He was even described as “introverted, a troubled young man who was like a lost pound puppy that nobody wanted.” Exactly how tortured was poor Kiehl who was in his own home feeling poorly and in desperate need of mental care or maybe he was a lost puppy that it seems his mother wanted. In fact the only things that news casters reported about Kiehl was he had a history of violence, mental illness and arrests.

This is the second day that we are seeing around the clock coverage talking about Robert Hawkins and his tortured background and we saw all of about a few hours of coverage for a murder by cop victim who had a similar background just the wrong skin color. I am always fascinated as to what makes one person a media darling and the other a media pariah. Maybe if Kiehl had gotten a gun climbed the clock tower and taken out the town he would have gotten a little more sympathy from the news, media and people in general.

As I read the Blogs about both situations it became increasingly clear that this was a case of racial differences. I read more than a few comments for Kiehl that said “So a mentally deficient nigger is shot dead for not following directions. I can’t find the tears for this, LIBS.” And “His own mother called the cops saying he was threatening her life. People making a big deal about this are probably a bunch of criminal rats themselves.” These were taken from halfricanrevolution. Yet the comments heard for Robert are ones of sorrow even linking what he did to the fact that he was taking anti depressants and that was the reason for his outburst. Even his old school principal where he dropped out of school said he was a good kid and never ever showed any violence towards neither students nor teachers.

How many of Kiehl’s family, friends, teachers or principals did the press or anyone else talk with in order to find out what a tortured soul he was? Did they even care or was the whole point of coverage meant to show how the cops did what was necessary to stop what they felt was a dangerous and violent person who may have had a gun. When are we going to stop having this black equals guilty, bad or just plain doesn’t matter attitude when it comes to victims and perpetrators. If we are going to look at the fact that one mentally deranged person is becoming the martyr that he wanted while another deranged person is just gunned down without anyone’s pity, let’s just take out all the discrepancies and report the crime and be done with it all.

Vigilante Justice Or Homicide?

joehorn2.jpg

What’s worse burglary or murder? This is a question that is so easy to answer, yet if you listen to the supporters of 61 year old Joe Horn, you would think that burglary was the epitome of crimes. I am talking about the case of Joe Horn who shot two of three suspected burglars to death as they walked from his neighbor’s yard in Texas. He was talking with the 911 operator when he did it.

I am sure that people are reading this and saying “but Black Sentinel isn’t a crime a crime?” Of course and I don’t have any problems with that. The problems I do have is when someone decides that this is now the wild, wild west and breaks out a gun and starts shooting those he “suspects” are guilty of a crime. I am pretty darn sure that those three men “were” robbing Horn’s neighbor, yet whose responsibility is it to make sure that those involved in crime pay for them? I know that Horn believes that it was he that had the right.

This is a clear cut case of murder. I believe that it can be looked at as premeditated murder if you read or listen to his conversation with the 911 operator.(read the transcript here) The operator tells him, “Don’t go outside the house, you’re going to get yourself shot if you go outside with a gun. I don’t care what you think.” Horn then replies, “You wanna make a bet; I’m going to kill them.” Not to mention that when he was shooting you can hear on the phone call him stating “you’re dead” then the loud cracks of a gun firing. What about stating you are going to kill someone right before you do it isn’t considered premeditated murder?

People are saying things such as “if we start doling justice like Horn, crime would go down.” Did crime in the old west go down when you could shoot people justly in the streets? Nope, in fact crime was out of control, which is the reason we had to enact new laws in order to stop people from taking it upon themselves to dole out the justice. What would have stopped another neighbor from seeing Horn with his gun, not knowing exactly what “he” was doing, go get their gun and shoot him, thinking “he” was in the middle of committing a crime as well. This kind of action opens up a can of worms that once out is going to get out of hand very quickly.

He told the dispatcher that he saw them coming out the window and had to go, where he went over to the neighbor’s yard to confront the men. He claims that he didn’t expect to see them, yet he could see them and ran over there with his gun, is he kidding. He says that they came towards the front yard and he “had” to shoot. If he had stayed in the house like he was told he wouldn’t have “HAD” to shoot anyone. The point is he WANTED to shoot those men. He even stated a new law called the Castle Doctrine Bill as a means that would protect him “if he kills them.” Senator Jeff Wentworth says that the bill was not written to protect a person in this situation.

The senator says the bill is intended to defend someone that is defending themselves or their family etc. from someone breaking into their occupied home, car or business, not a neighbor’s home which was unoccupied at the time. Like the senator said, in HIS OWN HOME, not some house next door, down the street or how about across town. So this man hadn’t even read the law he was citing before he went off to do his little shooting spree. Now is this the type of person we want taking it upon themselves to give justice at will? I don’t feel safe with this moron out supposedly protecting me or anyone else.

I am seeing on the news paper Blogs a lot of people are saying that this man is a hero because these two guys were scumbags and deserved to be shot dead, as they would be out robbing someone else right now. They are also talking about how this guy Horn shouldn’t have to cower in his home while burglars are running amok. Now the problem I am having is yes these guys probably were scumbags, but when did being a scumbag deserve death? Also, Horn was not being robbed personally so he didn’t need to cower in his home, remember, he went out and confronted the alleged scumbags. Also, if they were in “HIS” home I probably wouldn’t have a problem with what happened.

This has turned into a race problem since the protestors seem to be minorities and the people who are supporting him are white. The supporters are also running around with the confederate flag, I even seen a confederate flag painted on the back of one person’s head. I think that the reason the minorities are painting this as a racist problem could be that the man probably would not have run out of his house to shoot these fellows if they were white. He likely would have asked them what they were doing. This is the discrepancy, he might have jumped the gun and these guys could have been a construction team doing work, he didn’t know and that is the problem with people deciding that they have the right to play police man.

Shoot Him He Has A Hair Brush!

hairbrush-gun.jpg

An eighteen year old young black man was killed today it seems he was carrying a dangerous and deadly hair brush. That’s right you heard it a hairbrush. It seems the cops started their well known contagious shooting again for a hairbrush that they mistook for a gun. I know whenever I see people on the street with hairbrushes I drop and take cover lest the stray bullets get me. Seriously though, how many of our black youth and men need to die due to overzealous cops and their bad eyesight?

The young man’s mother called the cops due to a family disagreement in which the boy brandished a gun. The 911 operator says she heard the boy claim he had a gun. When the cops showed up the boy had come out of a first floor window. At that point according to the police he didn’t stop moving and they opened fire once they saw he was carrying a dark object under his shirt. Huh? How did they see it was a dark object if it was under his shirt? Anyway this is the reason they felt they needed to open fire on him shooting him about twenty times. Whatever happened to one or two shots then find out if more is necessary.

I can just hear the people with a white mindset having now, hey these things happen, if he hadn’t have been fighting with his family, he wouldn’t have been shot. Also, it wasn’t a racist shooting because (you fill in whatever pathetic tag line used to explain away racism here). Unfortunately, this type of “accidental shooting” doesn’t seem to happen to white men or most other nationalities for that matter. How many men other than black men have things in their hands when the cops show up to a home, I am sure plenty. How about when a cop stops a man that isn’t black do any of them pull out there wallets, yep I bet they do. Yet somehow the greeting of 20 to 50 bullets is only doled out when these encounters happen with black men.

The police are saying that the young man had a history of mental illness and they think that the mother had been trying to get him committed earlier that day. And this is an excuse how? Oh, maybe he was so crazy that “HE” thought he was carrying a gun, so the cops played along and commenced in shooting him as if it “WERE” real. This whole issue of mental illness is beside the point and just another tactic to try and skirt the issue. The issue is, the boy had NO gun and according to plenty of witnesses dropped the brush before the shooting started. They claim that as soon as the boy dropped the brush the cops started shooting him up.

Yet after they shot him twenty or so times they ran over and put their knees in his back, handcuffed him and threw him in the back of the squad car. I guess he was still a danger even if he was full of lead by then. Yet, I would love to know when this type of incident happens to white men and if it did wouldn’t some lawmaker get all riled up and put an immediate stop to the madness. But, since it isn’t white males but black ones nobody gives a damn and thus the killing continues amidst a gaggle of excuses. Then the news will turn around and tell me I should be sad and care when a cop gets shot.

The propaganda tells us that it is a travesty when a person shoots a cop and we should learn about their family and their great service to the community. Whose communities, obviously not the black one, for all I know these cops that are getting shot are the same ones who unload on blacks carrying brushes, wallets and candy bars. The news doesn’t find out this information, but they do find out that the black male/female being shot or tasered or punched and pepper sprayed had a history of mental illness, criminality, or whatever they deem pertinent to showing that they deserved the mistreatment given to them by the cops.

Where the hell is Bill Cosby, he has been in Detroit and the like telling the black community there that they should be cooperating with the police to catch criminals. Well now where is Bill Cosby or any of the other big talkers who always have something bad to say about or to the black community? What do they have to say to the New York police department? Of course, we will never hear a peep out of these folks since it isn’t a problem to kill blacks on a whim. None of them cares unless they can be pointing their finger at blacks at it plays better for the white media.

Are Police Getting Away With Modern Day Lynchings?

police.jpg

Danny Brumfield, 45, was shot in front of the New Orleans convention center after walking in front of a police car, carrying a pair of shears. The police say it was a case of self defense, the District attorney Eddie Jordan agreed, then closed any investigations and charges will not be filed. Now the autopsy report is in and the evidence now shows that Brumfield was shot in the back by a single shotgun blast. Unfortunately Jordan now claims that even with the new autopsy report “I don’t believe that autopsy alone is sufficient to create a situation where we would be able to carry our burden of proof.” As far as being shot in the back Jordan says that “how Mr. Brumfield was shot in the back.” Jordan is suggesting that conceivably he was turning or falling off the patrol car at the time.

The police officers maintain that Brumfield was making stabbing motions, with the shears, when he ended up on the hood of the car, no one was sure whether he was hit by the car or jumped on the hood. His daughter who was sleeping outside the convention center witnessing some of the action agreed with the police that he was on the hood hanging on and then she heard the shot. His family explains that he had the shears because he was cutting cardboard for his grandchildren to sleep on so they wouldn’t have to sleep on cold concrete. The officer Ronald Mitchell who fired the fatal shot was terminated police spokeswoman Sabrina Richardson said; claiming it was due to “a domestic violence issue with his wife”.

This is yet another case from New Orleans of police being out of control. How does a person get shot square in the back and have it deemed justifiable by authorities. I understand that he may “have” been threatening the police officers, but he had shears and his back was obviously at the officers, so it seems that it would be prudent to handle the situation differently. Such as, firing a non-fatal shot or maybe just not using the shotgun. The police in New Orleans were involved in many other shootings involving blacks that are being either prosecuted or investigated at this time. Such as Ronald Madison an unarmed, mentally retarded man with no criminal record, who was killed by a shotgun blast to his back, the police officer told the investigators that Madison had turned and reached into his waistband right before the officer opened fire. The officer who was charged with first degree murder has resigned from the force. Six other policemen also were charged for the shootout on Danziger Bridge. Three others were indicted in the killing of a second person on the bridge. All of the officers have pleaded innocent, and are awaiting trial.

This to me is a wakeup call that people need to see that it is obviously OK to shoot, maim, kill, beat down, and any other violent thing that cops would like to do to blacks. But, yet people are saying that “racism is pretty much dead” or “look how far blacks have come”. These statements are just ridiculous. What I say is look at the facts, so many blacks are being shot numerous times apparently justifiably due to the “contagious shooting theory”. It is interesting that cops never seem to get “contagious shooting” when shooting at white people. Also, the frequent beatings blacks get, but judges and people say that the person shouldn’t be struggling and they wouldn’t be beaten. Well I don’t know about you, but if someone is beating me, I’m going to struggle. Unfortunately, I guess white people never struggle when being arrested, so there is no need to beat them, just blacks.

All this is showing me that blacks are under attack and it seems that it’s just as justifiable as it was when lynching a black was taking place (more often). Also things in America are more the same than ever. What else we should see, is that we blacks need to be kept in line by any means necessary.
