Watching the debate last night I have to admit that this was the best of all the debates. It was engaging and comical. Now that being said, I want to ask people why we would want a comedian as our president. Is it just me or does McCain constantly think he has to be funny to get his point across? Aren’t we tired of being the joke of the world? We have a clown in office right now and we have a candidate running who not only identifies with that clown 90% of the time, but he wants to outdo that buffoon with his ultra buffoonery.
I don’t mind McClown showing that he is a colossal idiot. But how can people look at this man and see a serious presidential candidate who is actually prepared to run the country? I guess I just want a president who behaves and looks presidential as well as having a cool calm demeanor as well as having good ideas. We can not afford another village idiot running loose in the White House.
I totally understand that it isn’t about looks and who has a presidential presence. I am talking about a total package. The person that we choose needs to not only give the outward appearance of a president but also be able to make sound decisions, surround yourself with the best and brightest, also make decisions based on education not anger. We had two people on the stage and one looked like he was in control of the situation and able to lead. The other looked like he was about to turn green and burst out of his jacket in a fit of blind anger.
Now I have to agree with a lot of people who say that the way a person runs their campaign is a sure sign of how they would run the country. Richard Nixon ran a shady campaign and then started running an equally shady government. McCain is running a campaign that is erratic at best, full of hypocrisy, anger and hate. Obama on the other hand seems to be running a campaign that has kept sight of his goals, keeping out of the gutter and being tough while civil.
People are talking about Obama doing a lot of smiling and I don’t think he could help it. I was out and out laughing as I listened to McCain grappling with his attacks and continuing Bush’s policy of “say it enough times and everyone will believe it.” It just doesn’t work anymore. People were duped by that game then and Bush is wildly unpopular and trying to capitalize off of anything that he did is only making McCain look clumsy and desperate.
I hear a lot of people stating how afraid they would be if Obama got into office. Yet we should all fear a McClown presidency. He has a real problem controlling his anger which in the past has led him to have outbursts of profanity which was leveled at fellow senators. We saw a touch of that last night with all the eye rolling, huffing and puffing and interruptions that McCain couldn’t control. If that weren’t bad enough he can’t seem to stop hopping around like a frog on steroids. He has one stance which doesn’t seem to do much for the poll numbers and then he comes out with something new. He does this over and over again and makes himself look flighty.
So my take on this whole presidential race and all three debates is that Obama has handled himself in the same straightforward manner throughout and McCain has handled himself in the same erratic behavior as he has always shown. I am sure that this is biased since McCain just gives a person too many opportunities to point out the problems. Not only are his politics a lot like Bush’s but his buffoonish behavior is as well. We can not afford another minute of our country being run by our proverbial village idiot.
