McCain Is A Joke

Watching the debate last night I have to admit that this was the best of all the debates. It was engaging and comical. Now that being said, I want to ask people why we would want a comedian as our president. Is it just me or does McCain constantly think he has to be funny to get his point across? Aren’t we tired of being the joke of the world? We have a clown in office right now and we have a candidate running who not only identifies with that clown 90% of the time, but he wants to outdo that buffoon with his ultra buffoonery.

I don’t mind McClown showing that he is a colossal idiot. But how can people look at this man and see a serious presidential candidate who is actually prepared to run the country? I guess I just want a president who behaves and looks presidential as well as having a cool calm demeanor as well as having good ideas. We can not afford another village idiot running loose in the White House.

I totally understand that it isn’t about looks and who has a presidential presence. I am talking about a total package. The person that we choose needs to not only give the outward appearance of a president but also be able to make sound decisions, surround yourself with the best and brightest, also make decisions based on education not anger. We had two people on the stage and one looked like he was in control of the situation and able to lead. The other looked like he was about to turn green and burst out of his jacket in a fit of blind anger.

Now I have to agree with a lot of people who say that the way a person runs their campaign is a sure sign of how they would run the country. Richard Nixon ran a shady campaign and then started running an equally shady government. McCain is running a campaign that is erratic at best, full of hypocrisy, anger and hate. Obama on the other hand seems to be running a campaign that has kept sight of his goals, keeping out of the gutter and being tough while civil.

People are talking about Obama doing a lot of smiling and I don’t think he could help it. I was out and out laughing as I listened to McCain grappling with his attacks and continuing Bush’s policy of “say it enough times and everyone will believe it.” It just doesn’t work anymore. People were duped by that game then and Bush is wildly unpopular and trying to capitalize off of anything that he did is only making McCain look clumsy and desperate.

I hear a lot of people stating how afraid they would be if Obama got into office. Yet we should all fear a McClown presidency. He has a real problem controlling his anger which in the past has led him to have outbursts of profanity which was leveled at fellow senators. We saw a touch of that last night with all the eye rolling, huffing and puffing and interruptions that McCain couldn’t control. If that weren’t bad enough he can’t seem to stop hopping around like a frog on steroids. He has one stance which doesn’t seem to do much for the poll numbers and then he comes out with something new. He does this over and over again and makes himself look flighty.

So my take on this whole presidential race and all three debates is that Obama has handled himself in the same straightforward manner throughout and McCain has handled himself in the same erratic behavior as he has always shown. I am sure that this is biased since McCain just gives a person too many opportunities to point out the problems. Not only are his politics a lot like Bush’s but his buffoonish behavior is as well. We can not afford another minute of our country being run by our proverbial village idiot.

  2. “ultra buffoonery”

    You crack me up, Sista!

    Hi Black Sentinel,

Again you provide just the right blend of anger and
biting humor. It’s a tonic! Refreshing!

Meanwhile, this is undoubtedly too long to post, and you very likely have seen it, but I thought it was pretty interesting. It was sent by a colleague, who’s another old white woman for Obama:

Obama/Biden vs. McCain/Palin, what if things were switched around?….. think about it. Would the country’s collective point of view be different?
    Could racism be the culprit?

    Ponder the following:

What if the Obamas had paraded five children across the stage, including a three month old infant and an unwed, pregnant teenage daughter?

What if John McCain was a former president of the Harvard Law Review?

What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating class?

What if McCain had only married once, and Obama was a divorcee?

What if Obama was the candidate who left his first wife after a severe disfiguring car accident, when she no longer measured up to his standards?

What if Obama had met his second wife in a bar and had a long affair while he was still married?

What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only became addicted to pain killers but also acquired them illegally through her charitable organization?

What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?

What if Obama had been a member of the Keating Five?
(The Keating Five were five United States Senators accused of corruption in 1989, igniting a major political scandal as part of the larger Savings and Loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s.)

What if McCain was a charismatic, eloquent speaker?

What if Obama couldn’t read from a teleprompter?

What if Obama was the one who had military experience that included discipline problems and a record of crashing seven planes?

What if Obama was the one who was known to display publicly, on many occasions, a serious anger management problem?

What if Michelle Obama’s family had made their money from beer distribution?

What if the Obamas had adopted a white child?

You could easily add to this list. If these questions reflected reality, do you really believe the election numbers would be as close as they are?

This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative qualities in another when there is a color difference.

    Educational Background:

    Barack Obama:
Columbia University – B.A. Political Science with a Specialization in International Relations.
Harvard – Juris Doctor (J.D.) Magna Cum Laude

    Joseph Biden:
University of Delaware – B.A. in History and B.A. in Political Science.
Syracuse University College of Law – Juris Doctor (J.D.)

    vs.

    John McCain:
United States Naval Academy – Class rank: 894 of 899

    Sarah Palin:
Hawaii Pacific University – 1 semester
North Idaho College – 2 semesters – general study
University of Idaho – 2 semesters – journalism
    Matanuska-Susitna College – 1 semester
University of Idaho – 3 semesters – B.A. in Journalism

Education isn’t everything, but this is about the two highest offices in the land as well as our standing in the world. You make the call.

  5. Lusitana,

I actually like this comparison and don’t mind posting it even if it is a bit long. I hope others read it and actually THINK about it.

    Thanks for the reply.

I haven’t seen this one. You’re right! Something to think about for sure. Wow!

Your publication teaches racism, and that is something that is holding us back from being a better race. Not all white people are racist, just like all black people are not racist. I find it disgusting that there is anything called “Black Sentinel”, Black news, Black Miss America, Black Entertainment Channel, Ebony Magazine, Mahogany Greeting Cards…the list goes on. What we need to do is think about what we would do if white people had “The white news, White Miss America, White entertainment channel. That’s right, the NAACP would be all over it. It’s embarrassing to our race, so please, please stop this hate and idiocy! We are slapping ourselves in the face!!

  8. Kaisha,

What is embarrassing is that people such as yourself are either so blind or so stupid. I guess for you it is OK that we can open up magazines such as Newsweek, Ladies Home Journal and you name it and only see white faces. That isn’t racism, right? That is just the way things are and no one needs to do anything differently.

We already have a white Miss America it is called Miss America. For the majority of it being in business it was white only. Blacks were only able to join in on the stupidity in 1970. Yet, white people have always been able to participate in the miss black America yet they don’t. That is their problem.

You talk about BET when there is NBC, ABC, TNT, TMC, SPIKE, ANIMAL PLANET, DISCOVERY CHANNEL and so many more that show predominantly white people filled shows. But I guess that doesn’t matter either, right? As long as we don’t point out that there is an alternative for people who might want to see themselves on television etc.

See the problem with your faulty logic is that everything is predominantly white unless otherwise stated. Do you go and complain on blogs or other sites such as Unavision for Hispanics? Or Hareshima a web portal for Jewish people.

Or how about the blog stuff white people like. Have you gone to their sites to complain that we need to stop inputting race into things or is it JUST things that have black in the title that bother you? Because it doesn’t make sense when you can find just as many if not more examples of sites for and about all other races.

It seems that you probably are NOT a black person but a person who would like to spread your stupidity to others. Get yourself educated before making such idiotic correlations that don’t even make sense.

    Thanks but no thanks.

  9. The Engineer

Very well said, The Black Sentinel; very well said.

I especially like those photographs; they are so funny.

I am sorry for the nasty comments from your detractors. I like how The Black Sentinel spotted him/her for what he/she is.

    Thank you for listening.

  10. Kaisha,

    I like that name!
You said that it’s embarrassing to our race that we advocate for equality. Do the majority of the population care? Was there a black friend on Friends the television show. Surely they could have found 1 brother or sista to be a friend. I’m sure they can find talented blacks for some roles other than “Chocolate News” yet Jon Stewart gets the “seriously funny” political show. Or maybe playing a sport basketball football, yet we’re just now seeing a rise in black quarterbacks. These are the shows we’re confined to in the media. Maybe with the exception of Tyler Perry’s show it is a rare find, to find a show that portrays us in a serious non stereotypical fashion. I guess you’re happy with that.
I guess you’re happy with the absence of our “race”, actually, our ethnicity cuz there is only one race…the Human race. If everyone got that then we wouldn’t be where we are today.
I’d like to direct you to one of theblacksentinel’s previous posts…
