Why Blacks Support The Trayvon Martin Case?

What is it about the Trayvon Martin case that a lot of people just don’t get?  I was reading a news story about an old white man who was beaten by a group of 6 black boys after saying to them…Remember Trayvon Martin.  And the 6 black youths were arrested and are now in jail awaiting trial.

But, yet people continuously want to point out Al Sharpton’s involvement with the Tawana Brawley fiasco or the Duke LaCrosse case.  As if these two incidents are the quintessential equivalents of the Trayvon Martin case.  Or somehow because a black person made false claims in these two cases, the case against Zimmerman is either false or somehow irrelevant.

And people are also making other comments about the 6 black youths vs. white man such as “if this were the other way around, it would be seen as a hate crime”  or “Were is the FBI? Jesse? Sharpton? and every one else? Rally to take place at the Toledo Police station Monday april 9th at noon to demand justice in this case please be there. Please email me at mikeXXXX@yahoo.com if you plan to attend!”

OK.  Who reading this is wondering to themselves at this very moment “what lack of justice are they speaking of that needs to be had in this case?”  What exactly is it that is causing a problem for Mike shown above who is looking to go to a rally for justice in a case?  It can’t be the fact that the alleged perpetrators are in jail, it can’t be that the wheels of justice are turning and quite quickly I might add.  So is the only thing that would spell justice for Mike, would be for black people to rally around this white man and denounce the actions of the 6 black youths?  Something he obviously has yet to do for Trayvon.

OK, Mike, for what it is worth…I think that it was horrible for those black kids to beat up this white man for whatever reasons they have.  I hope that when all the evidence is revealed that it doesn’t show that they felt threatened when the man said to them to remember Trayvon Martin.  Which he claimed was his way to, as he said; to show them we are all on the same side.

Because, unfortunately, if some white man said that to me, I would be fearful he was planning to make ME the next Trayvon Martin.  And I would interpret him to mean DEAD.  And thus might feel the need to protect myself from this could/would be Zimmerman knockoff.  So, I guess that could be an excuse for them.  Maybe, but we see there is no lack of excuses for Zimmerman as well.

I guess he (Mike) wants to see hate crime charges brought.  That is fine “if” that is what he wants.  But, at least he has solace in seeing the wheels of justice moving, the alleged perpetrators in jail and an actual investigation being done.  And all this being done WITHOUT the victim’s family going to extreme measures of rallying a public outrage to get the same justice.  Somehow this white victim just has the luxury of this justice automatically.

I would love for Mike there to show me the one case where a white person be it man, woman or child who was killed by a black man and that black man was allowed to go home WITH the murder weapon the same night as the killing, and no further questions asked by the police of that case.  And the case closed after 7 hours of investigation that did NOT include any forensic, DNA, witness statements nor any other form of evidence outside of the perpetrators lone statement?  I would LOVE for someone to dig that case up.

For anyone who is confused as to WHY black people are on board this case, it is because the crime was just set aside and no one wanted to look into it any further.  This man whether white or Hispanic or as he classified himself white Hispanic, man killed an innocent unarmed person without any investigation to corroborate his story was allowed to go free.  And the police had attempted to force the parents into accepting that the man killed their unarmed son in self-defense without a shred of evidence to back that statement up.

I don’t think that anyone would sit idly by and allow that to go unchallenged if that were their child or if this was some white kid walking in a predominantly black area and the black man were the alleged perpetrator.  That is why this is so raw for the black community.  This is NOT the first case of an unarmed black person shot dead at the hands of a person who did not get arrested, charged or eventually ruled innocent of any wrong doing.

And it is frankly unbelievable to me that anyone even needs to spell this out to them.  I can’t believe that it is so hard to fathom why black people are calling for justice.  Why is it so hard for some to identify with an obvious injustice no matter the race of the people?  If the people heard this travesty without hearing the race of the people would they have a hard time understanding the outrage then?

Is this a case of willful ignorance in order to justify a group mentality that has always deemed the black man a threat no matter what situation we see them in?  We have to keep black people under control no matter what the cost, situation or outcome of that situation.  A lot of white people thought Rodney King was in control even though he was surrounded by 7 police officers who were beating him with batons as he lie on the ground.  And a jury still believed that he could have stopped them at any moment.

A woman named Tarika Wilson was shot to death THROUGH her one year old baby and the cops who did it were deemed to have acted appropriated because of course this black woman holding a baby was still a threat to the police even though again unarmed.  How many times do we need to see this very crime perpetrated upon members of the black community while those from the predominant white community make statements that it was understandable based on the so called fact that the white/non-black person pulling the trigger was in fear of an unarmed black who supposedly had all the control.

We allow the dominant predominantly white community to cry that blacks are so scary it is understandable that they pull the trigger when facing a black person in any type situation even if the story sound as outlandish as Zimmerman’s tall tales.  When does the opposite occur in that blacks become so fearful of white people that we jump the gun in defense of ourselves against them?

Would this new reversal of fear be acceptable and we can then justify doing nothing at all or hearing about nothing being done and have so many members of society agree that it was justifiable to do nothing.  Would we ever then see the members of predominantly white society see a case where Zimmerman is black and Trayvon is white and then tell the outraged people to just have a look at whatever case is out there at the moment which shows a white person killing or harming a black person and ask them why they aren’t outraged over that as well; even when the cases are ridiculously different.

It won’t happen because somehow we are again under a group mentality that white people are NOT a monolith.  If one commits a crime, doesn’t mean I must fear them ALL.  Yet, blacks do not, and have never gotten that same consideration.  And in fact we deem blacks as negative actors even when the perpetrators are white.  We have so many Susan Smith’s, Bonnie Sweeten’s, Ashley Todd’s, Bethany Storro’s, Michael Daragjati’s, Mary Turcotte’s, Charles Stuart’s and Brian Wells’ out there to feed this very stereotype for the masses like crack addicts scurrying for the last rock of crack.

How do we stop this?  How do we back away from the precipice that we see ourselves on at this very moment?  We all need to take a step back and understand that it is beyond time to start seeing things through the eyes of our black citizens as we already do those of our predominantly white majority.

Never Underestimate The Stupidity Of Idiots

After reading one of my comments I of course felt a post coming on.  This person I am about to respond to is just like all the others that made the very reason why I went on hiatus.  Too much stupidity in one place is a dangerous thing.  So, let’s just jump right in and get this party started, shall we?

My new friend Stephen Conklin asks: “First of all, what do black people not have in this country that white people do? You are showing your racism right there.”

Really, I am showing my racism by pointing out that there is disparity between races?  This is a real question?  Well I guess some people really are clueless.  OK Stephen I’ll bite.  How about we just list it out with reference so that you will be happy to have it backed up.  But then you can’t really complain.

  •  Wealth – The median wealth of white households is 20 times that of black households according to a Pew Research Center analysis of newly available government data from 2009. (Boy, what is it now after this recession?  Do you think it grew or shrank?)

I guess you really can’t argue with that one unless you are going to tell me that black people just don’t want wealth, so they go about trying to ensure they have none.  Or there is a real system of inequality in this country.  Hmmm?

  • Jobs – Blacks are unemployed right now at a rate of twice that of whites.  Black unemployment surged to 16.7% in August, its highest level since 1984, while the unemployment rate for whites fell slightly to 8%, the Labor Department reported.  Black unemployment has been roughly double that of whites since the government started tracking the figures in 1972

And I guess you are going to say that black people just don’t want to work.  But somehow they want to complain about unemployment for blacks.  Hmm, doesn’t make sense, because if we didn’t want to work, we would all be happy about the numbers of unemployed blacks versus whites and then ask why more aren’t unemployed.  Or can we look at the study by Devah Pager which showed that black men with NO criminal record and a 4 year college degree got far less job offers than white men with a felony record.  Stephen, how do we explain this?  Is it *GASP* disparity?  Is it something that white men have – the fallacy that they are somehow better than black men, even when they have a criminal record?  OH MY, what exactly could this study be showing us?  Who knows right?

But people such as you will deny that this has anything to do with racism, it is just a side effect of something else.  Why don’t you enlighten us as to why black unemployment is always double white unemployment?  Because if blacks have everything whites have and every opportunity whites have then we should have similar unemployment rates.  So what is the problem here?  Lazy blacks, illegal immigrants taking black jobs or maybe it is just another example of how blacks are the last hired and the first fired as most blacks in the workforce already know.

  • Home ownership – Home ownership rates for African Americans is 48% (compared to 75% for Whites) according to newly released U.S. Census data from 2009. (Boy, I wonder what those rates are since this recession. Stephen, they sure as hell didn’t get better after 2009, you think?)

Now why is this?  It can’t be that blacks just decided, “Hey, we don’t want houses or a way to build wealth for our families.”  In fact we don’t want houses or jobs.  That’s it right Stephen?  Or maybe the redlining, racist lending practices and last hired, first fired is making a showing in the housing market as well.  But of course this doesn’t mean that white people have something black people don’t have.  This just means that blacks don’t have stuff white people DO have.  LOL.

  • Education –  According to The Maynard Institute more than 25 years after Brown v. Board of Education integrated the public schools, schools remain segregated. Studies establish that segregation perpetuates racial inequality. Teachers assigned to minority schools are more likely to be inexperienced or teaching outside their fields of expertise. Schools serving minority communities receive less financing and fewer schools are constructed in minority communities. Black and brown children are disciplined more harshly and frequently for the same offenses as white children.
But of course this is because black children don’t want to learn right?  Everything showing disparity between the races proving that whites DO have things blacks don’t, can always be summed up as just a byproduct of blacks lack of desire for these things.  Not that the American system is inherently set up to create these disparities.  You see Stephen after slavery was abolished, Jim Crow reared its ugly head, then after Jim Crow we now have a supposed underground system even if highly blatant disparity that people like you pretend not to see.  Even though it is glaring in your face like the pretty lights blinking on any of the casinos littering the strip in Las Vegas.
But, please don’t let me open your eyes.  Just continue to sleep and pretend that its all equal and all black people have to do is pull themselves up by these non existent boot straps and just have what whites have.  Because we black people never contemplated doing that at all.  In fact we just never thought of just having these things.  Hey, I am going to go and tell all the blacks, “Just have exactly what whites have!”  Now, we can just do it.  Thanks Stephen, you really showed me and the rest of black America that it was in our hands the whole time and all we had to do was do it.  That college degree holding black man can now say, I’ll get that job no matter what felony wielding white man comes in for the position too.  I will just TAKE that job.  Thanks, Stephen you opened up all of our eyes!

But back to the REAL world, WHY is it that I have to consistently implore you to do a little research before coming to my blog and talking crap?  Second time you haven’t listened and again the second time you look like an idiot.  And yes, I called you a name.  It is how we label someone when they are behaving in a manner that calls for their behavior to be explained to many people.

If you feel that my calling you what you come here and showing me you must be, then by all means don’t come here.  I didn’t come to you and call you a name, you came here and acted in a fashion that warranted a name.  If it talks like a moron, writes like a moron and thinks like a moron, then the chances are overwhelming that it IS a moron.  Sorry.

Good luck next time.  But, again, do some research before bringing your tripe.  I don’t like stupidity for the sake of stupidity.  Oh, and I will answer the rest of your tripe in due time.

Another Kook Aid Overdose On MLK Jr. Day

As I surfed the racism and discrimination tag surfer I came across a post that sounded promising.  It was called The Afronista Rants #7: Sorry, MLK , The War Ain’t Over Yet.  I mean from the title and how the post starts I thought this was going to be an insightful strong view.  And all I got was disgusted and basically pissed off.  I almost wished I had not seen it, but then I wouldn’t be able to address some of the views that we have of our own.  It is pretty obvious that this person is channeling Bill Cosby or at least studies at his school of non thought.  So basically this was a reply that ran hella long so became a post instead.  So bare with me.

Wow, is this post supposed to be inspiring?  I was with you for at least a paragraph or two.  But as I read on this seems to have lapsed into nothing more than the same stereotypical tripe that is being force fed to the masses constantly with the help of Bill Cosby and the like.  You speak about the fact that the war isn’t over, and you are right at least about that one thing.

The war isn’t over, but the war isn’t with us like you think.  The last time I checked blacks weren’t holding the positions of power in which to deny jobs to other blacks.  But that is beside the point.  Let’s just go and address the articles main points, shall we.  You talk about how we oppress ourselves more than the white man ever could.  And you might be right from looking at your thoughts on the black community.  But the sad cold facts are that in the game of oppression the majority still reigns supreme.

Talking white, acting white, Uncle Tom, etc.  You claim that these are all things said to other blacks to make them feel guilty for succeeding.  Um, what?  That is a load of crap.  Acting or talking white, which I doubt very seriously is even being used as often as people like you claim, is not about people doing well.  It is about people who have a propensity to speak proper English, which by the way is no indicator of how well you are doing.  My son has just finished going to an ALL black school where he was on the honor role as well as being in honor and AP classes, and has not been called that.  I guess it may be regional.

I also, never suffered those names and neither has my significant other who was a math major and went to a school for the gifted while living in an all black neighborhood.  My sister who kept a 4.0 all through her school career has also never suffered from this form of taunting.  We lived in a black neighborhood as well.  I am not saying it doesn’t happen, but I am saying that I have talked to too many people who would definitely have been candidates for this talk who don’t know anyone suffering this as well.  Not to mention we are all successful now and live in an all black neighborhood that anyone who can see, would consider the ghetto.  And that is by choice.  And I have yet to be called anything other than neighbor.

And Uncle Tom is a whole other beast in itself.  Also, having nothing to do with how well a person “plays the game” or so called game.  It is about a black person who will sell the rest of the black community down the river to get ahead.  Now unless this is the “game” you are talking about, then maybe you are right.  But, then again if this IS the game then I would think that this would be a bad thing, deserving of some derogatory name.  You see, to a LOT of black people, we can do well AND help the black community at the same time.  Success doesn’t have to be mutually exclusive.  And maybe that is the problem.

Just because a person spots an Uncle Tom doesn’t have to mean that they somehow failed the game, or can’t play the game.  This kind of talk is just a cop out in order to justify leaving the black community in the dust in order to win at this so called “game”.  People act like they can never see pointing out these blacks is anything other than envy, jealousy or what have you.  And since it goes deeper than just the same stereotypical thoughts, you might need to think outside the box to understand.

Black people segregate themselves far worse than the Jim Crow laws.  Wow, just wow.  I guess you haven’t heard of Red lining, gentrification or discriminatory and predatory lending practices.  All of these practices were and are designed to keep the “majority” of blacks in specific areas.  But, hey, don’t let me rain on the bash black parade.  I guess all it takes for blacks to get out into those exclusively white dominated housing markets is to turn on a bit of “other people’s music”.  Because lord knows that blacks love crummy neighborhoods and choose to stay there whenever possible.

I am guessing the fact that black unemployment is over twice that of the general white dominated population is just a fluke.  I suppose, to you blacks are just a lazy bunch of do nothings who refuse to try new things.  At least this is what your writing looks like to me.  You of all people should realize that the black community is not this monolith we are generally seen as.  You have people from every walk of life who decide to ONLY stick to the music they have grown up with.  That isn’t some sort of black trait that signifies uncouth uncultured people.  You seem to have a narrow mind when looking at the black community.

Just because one is born in a middle class neighborhood doesn’t mean they need to stay there as well, and the same can be said for upper class neighborhoods too.  And what makes you think you know how much determination there is with each new generation of blacks?  I am curious to know.  And what circumstances surround these new generations who lack determination?  Or do you know or even care?  You are great at naming symptoms of this disease we in America live in, all the while seeming to gloss over or better yet ignore the facts of the actual disease.

Black people want to be rappers or sports stars?  And why would this be?  Would this be because if they turn on their televisions, radios or internet, they see that blacks, who were once relegated to those crappy neighborhoods as you put it, were able to use those means to bust out of the crappy place?   Is this a black trait; are black children the only ones who have dreams of entertainment or sports?  Because the last time I checked there were kids from every walk of life aspiring to be stars of some sort.

And I guess you don’t see the hypocrisy in your statements, right.  Either these kids have no determination and are happy wallowing in their crappy neighborhoods or are actively wanting something better or more even if they are chasing the wrong rainbow.  I guess there aren’t any props for the dream.

And black men don’t think of college, only getting it quick by selling drugs on the corner.  Again, wow.  And this isn’t stereotypical why?  I guess all of those black men who DO go to college only did so for sports.  Even though the majority of them actually major in and graduate to do something other than sports.  And I guess all those black drug dealers who are standing on the corner have hidden airplanes, speed boats or other equipment to help them import all the drugs from outside the country.

We know damn well that almost every drug sold in America comes from outside the country and people still want to claim that selling drugs is a black thing.  Are you nuts?  Cocaine isn’t grown in the U.S., so where are these drug dealers getting it in order to make crack, crank and whatever else?  Where are they getting the heroine which is made from the poppy plant and is pretty much a staple of Afghanistan right now?  You really think that black men can get away with carting drugs down from Canada or up from Mexico or in from overseas with all the racial profiling that goes on, these dudes can barely walk down the street.  And if you are ignoring this, can you say who is getting a pass on bringing the drugs to those black men?

And let’s talk more about the education.  You speak of college but somehow fail to mention all of the failing, crumbling, shoddy excuses for public schools.  Who is responsible for those schools?  Why do you think that the government would set up a system where the schools are funded by tax dollars, when we know that the majority of black neighborhoods have a tax base so low they can barely pay for a school window?  Do you think that was a coincidence?

I mean come on it isn’t rocket science!  OK, black unemployment HIGH, black income, SUPER LOW, black middle class GONE, black tax base LOW, schools in black area funded by unemployed, low income, low tax revenue equals POOR SCHOOLS WHERE KIDS DON’T HAVE A CHANCE.  So while black kids are being undereducated by the truckload; who can we say is getting a pass on this one?  If we wanted to educate every child in America, we would.  This isn’t that far a leap to make; it wouldn’t even be for some poor kid educated in a black public school.

And now January 20th is rolling around and yet the fool is ALREADY up on the soap box!  You claim that black people got all of these rights and act as if just because there are laws against discrimination, all of a sudden bingo bongo the doors flung open and blacks were ushered inside.  You know there are laws against murder too, do I need to go on. You speak of reparations and people knocking on our doors to hand us our due.  Well the last time I checked I didn’t get a dime of freaking reparations and no one is banging on my door to give me neither reparations nor this supposed due, you spoke of.

But what I do know is that black people today aren’t, this monolithic poor ghetto population who refuse to leave our squalor ridden crummy neighborhoods, while ignoring our education as we refuse to do anything besides sell drugs all while dreaming of being the next super rapping sports sensation who doesn’t want to listen to the Beach boys for fear someone somewhere will call us a white talking and acting, Uncle Tom.

I hate to say it as well, but we are losing the war.  The war we are losing is the one where even our fellow black people can’t seem to fight the programming which says we are all just that one big raging black drug dealing ghetto thug who is out to ruin America by begging for a hand out.  It is a shame when we have such hatred or disdain for our own community that we can’t even see that we have taken up the bell of the town crier.  One whose bell is so much stereotypical crap that once was heaped on us by a white dominant community town crier.

Hopefully as your buddies continue to send you statements about how they are black and proud, you can look at yourself and see someone who should be a proud black person yet isn’t because you allowed yourself to get drunk off the Kook aid spiked with propaganda fed to you by the dominant community.  Hopefully you will realize that you are no better than those ghetto folks you seem to hate. Those ghetto folk may be tearing the black community down with their ignorance and complacency.

But unfortunately, you are nothing more than their twisted doppelganger. You think you have made it, are making your way to it or some version there of.  Yet, you do nothing to help the black community with this stereotypical rant. Actually you are working hard and seeming to be very successful at tearing the black community down.  And the one thing that unites you with Mr. and Mrs. Ghetto in all of your destruction of the black community is blatant ignorance.  And to think the title of the blog is “Senseless Scribbling Of An Idiot.”  Kudos, sounds like you finally hit the nail right square on the head with that one.

Don’t Blame The Black Community For Tiger

I just love how you can find three or four black people to say something then it turns into THE BLACK COMMUNITY…  That is exactly what is going on with this whole Tiger Woods deal.  You have a few black people who have made dumb ass comments about his love for white tail and boom the whole black community feels that way.

When in actuality the majority of blacks couldn’t give a rat’s ass about Tiger, the color or amount of his dumb mistresses or anything else connected with that fool.  To me he’s just another O.J. Simpson, dazed and confused.  Yeah I know that blacks were stupid enough to get behind O.J.  But that was the past; hopefully.

The problem is that you have people who believe that any black person who either makes a bunch of money or has status will by default be embraced by the black community.  Um, WRONG!  How many blacks are lining up to support Clarence Thomas or Michael Steele?  These two dip wads have plenty of status.  And not very many black people were lining up to support Tiger either.

He, not us, decided that he was NOT going to be a part of the black community. Isn’t it fascinating that now that his phony ass persona has been blown the predominantly white media people are eagerly trying to focus on the black community’s reaction to him and his harem of white ladies?  As if it matters.  They were all too happy to see Tiger distance himself from blacks early on and welcomed him with open arms.

Now that he has fallen from the good graces of some white people’s sensibilities, let’s play up the black community divide.  When in the hell have you ever, EVER seen Tiger doing anything for or in the black community?  He doesn’t play in the black community, he doesn’t live in the black community, he doesn’t spend any time for any reason in the black community and has NO ties, marriage or otherwise to the black community.

The last tie that guy had to the black community was his father and when he died so did that tie.  And now he’s so black!  Ha!  Tiger isn’t the first “minority” (I use that loosely) sports figure to sleep with white women.  And those who DID have ties with the black community continued to have support from the black community.  The race of the mistress has never been the obvious focus.

Sure it is a backroom, round the hair salon and out with the girls type of discussion.  And no one is going to tell me that only black girls do it or that it is racist.  I can just hear the white women talking about Mark Sanford’s choice of cheating with some “Argentinean” woman.

Oh, let’s not forget about the crying foul that went on when Hugh Grant was caught with that black chick while only dating Elizabeth Hurley.  The cat calls of why would he want that black chick etc. when he had that beautiful white Elizabeth Hurley.  Not to mention this actually made an appearance in psychology today.  Damn!

The reason why black people are making fun and laughing AT Tiger’s expense is that he is not part of us.  He is not well received in the black community.  If he were he would have received the same type of treatment that all of these famous athletes did even though they slept with white woman, noteworthy mention, some while being married to black women.   There was Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Steve McNair, Lawrence Taylor and Kobe Bryant.  The list could probably be a post in of itself it’s so long.

These black athletes were supported rightfully or wrongfully so because they had ties to the black community.  They didn’t work as hard as Tiger to put thousands of miles of distance between them and the black community.  And guess what people who wish to make this a Tiger vs. the black community thing.  There is no issues between Tiger and the black community.  The black community for the most part could care less about Tiger and Tiger could care less about the black community.  So stop trying to push a phony agenda.

You Are A Racist!

You are a racist. Statistics don’t lie. 15% of the population is committing half the crime. I was watching a group of black leaders discuss issues concerning the black community. They were all crying about how racist everyone is. One guy commented that there are racist out there, but the problems still remain. He wanted to stop moaning about racism and start dooing something about the community. Some people have a victum mantality and others look for solutions. You are living with a victum mentality. Our country is majority white. If you want to be in a majority black country, move to one. If you are fine living here, do something about the problems that foster crime in your own community.

Bubba,

Learn to spell or use spell check then come and tell me about how it is a victim mentality that continues to keep such glaring disparity between the black and white communities. And you speak of doing something about the problems that foster crime in my community. Well in my community the criminals are white, what should I do about that? But if by “MY” community you mean the black community I would have to say that if blacks weren’t unemployed at twice the rate of whites maybe there would be less crime. But someone like you would rather not find that out, right?

And just in case you didn’t know, the white community commits more crimes than the black community. What are you doing to put a stop to it? Where are your community meetings to address this FACT? Where are the white leaders pointing fingers at the white people and asking them what they are prepared to do about the rampant crime in their communities? They are nowhere, that’s where. And the reason they are nowhere is because the focus is on blacks as if we are the only race that commits crime. Get a freaking clue.

Our country is a majority white, means what exactly?  Does it mean that blacks shouldn’t expect fair treatment under the law? Blacks should be content with the blatant racism that is rampant in our country?  Blacks should only focus on blacks and continue to let the systemic racism run amok in the race card playing white community? Or should we just let the status quo reign supreme and do nothing to fix the problem?

The problem in this country is that we want to constantly focus on the symptoms and never the disease. If someone walked into the doctor’s office with blood gushing from a wound in their arm and the only thing the doctor can focus on is that the person has a dirty bloody shirt and continues to tell the person that they need clean clothes, the problem never gets fixed. Think about that one, because this is what you are telling me to do. Only look at the symptom of racism not the racism. That might be helpful for those whites who wish to continue being racist but it does nothing to help black people. But of course that isn’t your main concern.

Your main concern is for blacks to stop crying about the treatment in this country and just put band aids on the gaping wounds that white privilege is cutting into us. Now if you want a country that is devoid of blacks, why don’t YOU and the other racists move to one? Don’t presume to tell me to move out of a country that some of my ancestors not only OWNED first but the others actually built. You don’t have the freaking right. Do you tell the white people who are unhappy with this black president that if they want a white president they should move to a country with one? I bet you don’t.

Most people like you wouldn’t have the good sense to see the hypocrisy in your statements. You sit there and tell people that they should stop moaning about racism and do something for themselves. So we decide to do something for ourselves and apply for jobs yet, the majority of businesses are owned and operated by white people. We then find ourselves being passed over for jobs such as the statistical study by Devah Pager shows. That a black man with a college degree has a call back rate on jobs less than that of a white man with a felony record. Nope that isn’t racism, right Bubba? That is just a black man who doesn’t want to work.

Well, unfortunately the statistical facts are against you on this Bubba. Remember you said that the statistics don’t lie? So while you are gabbing on about how blacks are playing the victim, I am looking at plenty of statistics to show that blacks are consistently the victims of all sorts of racism. And if we see that blacks are being victimized while trying to get jobs would that then show that blacks being unemployed at twice the rate of whites is just a symptom of racism?

So, then what of that victim mentality? Should those blacks who are surely being victimized just ignore that and move to countries where blacks can get employed? Or maybe the white’s who would rather hire a white felon instead of an educated black man should move to a country where there are no blacks.

So maybe instead of pointing your ignorant finger at the black community, you will point your finger right back at your own community. Maybe if people such as yourself worked within your own community and tried to change this system of white privilege and systemic racism, blacks wouldn’t be victims and have no victim mentality. Then maybe they wouldn’t be unemployed at twice the rate, which drives up crime, be denied housing, services and quality medical care.

But then who would be the crime scapegoat for white racists then Bubba? Oh yeah, the Hispanics, who get called out every time someone mentions the high white crime rate. So in the vain of Dr. Richard Kimble in the movie Fugitive, It wasn’t us white people it was the one armed Hispanic; right Bubba? So it sounds to me like you have a lot of work to do in order to straighten out your own community before you go chastising some other community.

The Epidemic Of Ignoring The Real Story

derrion

What exactly IS an epidemic?  We constantly hear this term when anything negative happens in the black community.  Well according to dictionary dot com (not disease) it means extremely prevalent; widespread.  The next definition is a rapid spread or increase in the occurrence of something.

Now I feel that the Derrion Albert death was totally ridiculous and callous occurrence.  My problem is that these deaths which total 40, is far from an epidemic.  Is it too many?  Hell yes!  But where were these CNN and other reporters or principals such as Steve Perry, who think they know all the answers or the rest who have so much to say all with little answers, back when there were 1 death, 2 deaths or 39 deaths?

We like to pick and choose what we label as out of control or epidemic.  CNN has a story running right now on workplace violence which is overly represented by white society and they haven’t once called it an epidemic.  They say that homicide is 42% of all workplace deaths and that isn’t an epidemic?  Yet, somehow we are now having an epidemic after 40 deaths.

According to Harvard 45,000 people a year die because of lack of health care resulting in lack of medical attention.  Isn’t that an epidemic that we should be focusing on and crying about?  And we ALL want to sit and focus on 40 teens.  This is why this country is going to hell in a hand basket, and not a very nice looking one either.  We are way too focused on keeping inequality with phony outrage.

It goes all the way back to the per capita versus full numbers game.  We like to focus ALL of our attention on things with small numbers that don’t affect us directly even though what DOES affect us with large numbers flies under the radar.  Or we tend to look at the symptoms and never the root cause.  Could we possibly be looking at the backlash from all the overwhelming poverty that black and other minority inner city children, adults and families have to deal with day in and day out?

We cry like the world is ending when the unemployment rate for the generic yet overwhelmingly white majority reaches 9%; yet could have cared less that the unemployment rate for blacks has been up over 10% for a very long time now.  Maybe we should be concerned with ALL of our people. . . Oh! My bad! That would be socialism and thus bad.  We all need to continue focusing on ourselves, even though it gets us nowhere.

OPEC is talking about dropping the dollar as the currency of their trade.  And it makes me wonder if this whole concern with Chicago is just another distraction from the real issues.  When the dollar is no longer the trade status of oil we are going to see a collapse of the dollar and then what?  We know what happens when a country’s currency collapses. Just look at Zimbabwe and that out of control inflation.  Thousands of dollars for a loaf of bread.

And according to The Independent, “Iran announced late last month that its foreign currency reserves would henceforth be held in Euros rather than dollars. Bankers remember, of course, what happened to the last Middle East oil producer to sell its oil in Euros rather than dollars. A few months after Saddam Hussein trumpeted his decision, the Americans and British invaded Iraq.”  Are we going to end up in yet another war?  And all we can focus on is this phony so called epidemic of black gang violence which has resulted in a whopping 40 dead.

Is Disagreeing With Obama Racism?

OK, it is getting just absolutely nuts out there.  I am reading some; make that a lot of blogs out there that all have the same theme.  By Carter saying that race is playing a part in how Obama is being treated somehow they think that everyone is saying that everyone is playing the race card.  Somehow racism can’t be a part of people disagreeing with Obama.  And all the people hate Obama for what he has done.

One of the blogs I read said that people hated Obama because of what he has done to the country and what he is trying to do.  Well, I’ll bite.  What exactly has Obama done?   I personally don’t care for Obama as I know for a fact that he cares as much about the black community as McCain or his idiotic sidekick moose hunter Palin.  I just haven’t seen anything that the guy has done or proposed that would cause all this anger.

Bush enacted the Patriot Bill which actually stole our so called “freedoms” and no one seems to have been out running to a tea party.  Bush said that it was OK to wire tap AMERICAN CITIZENS in their homes which takes away my right to privacy and yet not one tea party or outcry from Glen Beck or anyone else who leans right.

Supposedly Obama has run up the deficit, yet where were these so called tea party folks when Bush practically sent this country to the poor house?  Where in the hell do these uneducated loons think that this large as hell deficit came from?  Trust me it didn’t pop into existence the day Obama won the white house.  Trust me it was there the day before, the year before.  Hell it was there two, three and even four years before and was growing bigger every day.

Is it just me or does anyone else wonder where in the hell were all these people crying give us our country back?   Why is it, all of a sudden a black man is in the white house and now we, and in case no one noticed the vast majority of these people are white, want the country back.  Back from WHO!?  Who in the hell has taken off with the country?   Oh, yeah a black man.  I get it.

Anyway, these people don’t understand that it is one thing to disagree with the president, hell I do.  I just really don’t like this guy.  But, when I am holding signs that say “there is an African lion in the zoo and an African lying in the white house”; I think we have gone far beyond just disagreeing with the president.  There is NO need to mention is race or creed in order to make a point about how he is doing a bad job.

But, you see, my problem is that he really hasn’t DONE anything that shows he did a bad job.  He hasn’t raised taxes (YET), he hasn’t gotten us into two ridiculous wars, he hasn’t sat idly by while a whole state of people practically drowned and starved for five days and he sure hasn’t enacted a bunch of laws that strips Americans of their rights.  And if he has, then why doesn’t someone please list these taxes, wars, catastrophes and laws that he has helped to pass that would show me the reason for such anger.

I didn’t support Bush either but I wouldn’t jump down his throat if he had done nothing to hurt people.  But the problem is he did.  So there has to be something that this guy has done that would cause all these people to practically be chomping at the bit to overthrow the government.  I have been listening to these people at the tea parties and health care protests and they say things that go against their own interests.  So what is their real motive if not health care and taxes?

Whose Independence Day?

bostonflag

I received a comment from a fellow named Roger who wanted to chastise me on this Independence Day.  I told him that my forefathers weren’t set free on this day.  He then says – my forefathers weren’t set free on this day   black entitlement “exactly my point”.

I just have to ask, were my forefathers set free on the 4th of July, 1776?  My forefathers are African American and one set are Native American.  I don’t recall as my forefathers one of which sat in slave quarters after being stolen from his homeland and forced to work for free building a nation that decided they needed  freedom but not for the blacks they held captive.

And the other sat on a reservation after being kicked off his god given land.  And the last time I was in history class I didn’t see any Native Americans celebrating Americas freedom from Britain.  In fact I didn’t see any blacks celebrating either.  Not unless you think that serving massa a glass of cold ice tea and picking cotton in the fields for free was a celebration.

This is a prime example of white privilege at it best or worst depending on how you see it.  This Roger feels that just because I am American I have to be in awe of the same holidays as everyone else whether or not it was intended for me or not.  I guess to him I have to celebrate HIS forefathers’ freedom. While he and people like him don’t know the date of and could care less when and if my forefathers’ became free.

He wants to claim that this is somehow black entitlement to say that my forefathers’ were not freed on this day in history.   This statement is extremely idiotic at best.  How is stating a FACT feeling entitled?  Maybe the one who feels entitled is Roger.  Isn’t he feeling entitled to expect that I celebrate a holiday that doesn’t have one iota of anything to do with me or mine?  Isn’t it entitlement that makes him believe that I don’t have any choice BUT to allow him and other white people dictate to me what holiday I will and won’t acknowledge?

No Roger MY forefathers’ Both African American nor the Native American were free to neither life, liberty nor the pursuit of happiness.  But now I am supposed to run around like this holiday was inclusive for ALL Americans.  You can talk of the progress or whatever, that does not negate the fact that this holiday is a commemoration of a day that WHITE people in this country were freed.  Everyone else could only dream.  I guess you can forget that but I can’t; and simply put I WON’T.

No Surprise A White Cop Shoots Black Cop

cop on cop shooting

Scenario we’ve seen over and over again white cop, dead black man.  This scenario only differs because the black man just so happens to be a fellow police officer himself.  And of course now an investigation needs to be done in order to see whether this shooting had to do with race.  Really?  You think that white police officers are out gunning down white people left and right?

We have ALL seen police footage of white men holding guns, threatening people and cops and still NOT be gunned down.  They try and reason with the man, give him every opportunity to be taken down without bloodshed.  But somehow when the person is black not only do they get 50 or so bullets, but they get them without so much as a 5 minute window between being seen and being shot.

Have these city and police officials ever watched the video of the white cop abusing what he thought was just some random black man walking where the white cop felt he shouldn’t be?  And didn’t this random black man turn out to be a cop himself?  Was this race related, what a joke!  If this was a white man chasing a white man, the white cop would have stopped everyone involved and questioned them to no end, getting down to the nitty gritty of the situation.

It wasn’t just a case of cops being overzealous and shooting who they thought was a perpetrator like people are already saying. The black cop named Edwards actually called the crime in to the police before chasing the suspect down the street.  So why didn’t Edwards just unload his gun into this suspect if this is just what cops do?  He did what he was supposed to do; he did what ALL cops should do with ALL people black, white or whatever.  He did his best to protect and serve, not shoot and kill.

We are constantly making excuses, constantly doing investigations and constantly finding these white cops innocent of any and all murder charges after needlessly gunning down some black man in the street.  Whether he is an innocent man on his way home from the grocery store holding a bag of groceries, a man out with friends at a bachelor party, a kid walking down the street holding a candy bar or a black cop trying to subdue a suspect, our black men are walking around with shoot me signs plastered all over them which is synonymous with black skin.

People can talk all day about how mistakes are made.  Why are the cops not making these innocent mistakes with white men and women?  Why are these types of mistakes always directed at the brown and black folks?  And don’t tell me that it is because minorities commit more crimes.  We have seen that this is NOT the case.  The people being shot haven’t even committed a crime let alone fit any stereotype of a person who has.  I guess unless you count being a black or brown minority person.

This has got to stop!  And people wonder why minorities don’t trust the police.  Why should we trust a gang of people who are constantly coming into our neighborhoods under the guise of helpers who then turn around and shoot our innocent neighbors.  And don’t talk about the suspected criminals who are shot.  Because the last time I checked you are innocent UNTIL proven guilty.  So when an unarmed man is gunned down only to be implicated in a crime makes no sense since the cops did NOT know he/she was guilty of anything.  Not to mention don’t we give people a fair trial before we sentence them to death.  Again this has got to stop!

Why Buy Black?

black parlor

I have been seeing a lot of posts being written about the buy black experiment.  Basically there is a group of blacks who are deciding that they are going to do the majority of their purchases from black people in their black communities.  Now the problem people seem to be having with this is that they feel it is discriminatory.  People feel that by deciding to support blacks in their own communities they are hurting others.

Now the problem I have with these people and their thinking is that no one ever complains about other races of people who do the majority of their shopping in their own community.  Somehow it only becomes problematic when black people decide that they will support people from their own community.  Why is that?  Why is it that black people are always expected to give the majority of their business to white owned or other?

When are these bloggers going to write a post declaring China towns across the nation as a cradle of racism?  Now California is full of Spanish communities where Hispanics shop and buy close to exclusively.  No one feels that this is discriminatory because somehow we all feel that they are a close knit community just like the many Korea towns, Italian areas etc.  No one cares that any of these people by deciding to buy from their own communities are helping to strengthening their communities.

I don’t see very many white people going out of their way to drive their butts into the black community and patronizing the black owned businesses there. But, I suppose they feel it is only reasonable for blacks to leave their neighborhoods in order to make sure they patronize a rainbow coalition of businesses.

Are these white people who are claiming this is racist bringing their children to black owned daycares?  Do the majority of white people call the black run insurance person, car dealer, real estate agent or any other black businesses?  How many of them decide that it is important to them to spend their money with a rainbow coalition of businesses?   And I don’t think that going to the neighborhood Chinese, Japanese or Korean restaurant counts.

We all know that they don’t.  If they did, then black businesses wouldn’t be going under, they would be doing a lot better and there wouldn’t be a need to push this buy black agenda.  It never fails that people will turn this into some sort of finger pointing adventure.  Not even giving one thought to how they themselves contribute to the need for black businesses to be supported by black people.

When we complain that blacks are being passed over for employment within white owned businesses, we hear that blacks should get their own businesses.  As soon as a black person decide OK, they WILL patronize businesses in their own neighborhood all of a sudden they are racist.  Blacks are damned if they do, damned if they don’t.

And I have yet to see ONE white person cross that divide and do their business with the black businesses in the “black area”.   Did they decide they would only buy white?  Or are they doing what white people have done the last decades blacks have been able to own businesses, continue to shop white.

Black businesses are disappearing left and right.  But according to these bloggers that is fine as long as black people don’t decide to make it a priority to buy from those in their neighborhoods.  We can go down the list of communities who patronize those of their neighborhoods.  We are already being chastised for living in black neighborhoods, now we are being chastised for wanting to spend our money in black neighborhoods.
