Lying To The Top Using Privilege

resume

Thanks to a link from the Engineer, I have been looking into the fact that a LOT of these white top executives have and are lying about their resumes.  This is just more of the blatant privilege that a lot of white people will deny even exist.

The reason this is privilege is because they were taken at their word without any scouring and searching that most minorities have to endure before qualifying for a job.  These companies did no checking, no inquiring as to the legitimacy of these people’s resume claims.

With a little research, that maybe these companies SHOULD have done, I have found that this is a bigger problem than is being reported.  And when it is being reported we see that it is being called things like “fudging on their resume” or “incorrectly advised.”  This wording makes it sound cute, when it is anything but cute.  These were out and out lies, blatant fraud.

We constantly wish to talk of the deviance of this or that minority and pretending as if cases and situations like these don’t exist.  I actually doubt very seriously if a lot of prominent black, Latino or some other minority were to be busted lying and committing fraud in order to gain employment or promotions would be held up for the entire country to point the finger at.

The latest transgressor is the COO of Perma Fix named Larry McNamara.  They will think of some form of appropriate actions other than firing because they feel that somehow he was still well qualified even without a college education.  This is yet another revelation of white men being qualified over all those college educated minorities, just like Devah Pager’s study.

They are qualified even after displaying that they have very little honesty, integrity, moral value or trustworthiness that should be expected of anyone who is in a position of power.  Why don’t we start weeding out these impostors and replace them with well qualified individuals who HAVE busted their tails to get that education, experience or other qualifications no matter their race, gender, creed or sexual orientation?

Here is just a small listing of these unqualified white men who have been hired over more qualified minorities and others:

Ronald Zarrella, Bausch & Lomb, CEO – falsely claimed an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

George O’Leary, ex-Notre Dame Football Coach – falsely claimed to have a master’s degree in education from New York University and to have played college football and earned three letters while doing so.

Marilee Jones, Admissions Dean for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) – falsely claimed to be a “scientist with degrees in biology from Rennselaar Polytechnic Institute and the Albany Medical College,” and to have her doctorate.

Kenneth Lonchar, CFO of Veritas software – falsely claimed he earned an accounting degree from Arizona State University and was a Stanford MBA graduate.

Jeff Papows, CEO of Lotus Corporation – falsified his military record (he was a lieutenant not a captain), feigned his education (he doesn’t have a Ph.D. from Pepperdine University) and claimed he was an orphan (his parents are alive and well).

Dave Edmondson, CEO of RadioShack – falsified his résumé by claiming to have a degree in psychology from Pacific Coast Baptist College in California (though the school doesn’t offer a psychology program), along with a degree in theology from the same unaccredited college.

Bryan J. Mitchell, Chairmen of MCG Capital – falsely claimed that he was a graduate of Syracuse University.

And last but not least James J. Minder, Chairman of the Board of gun manufacturer, Smith & Wesson Corporation. But it was revealed that Minder had served some 15 years in prison in the 1950s and 60s for a series of armed robberies and an attempted escape.

And somehow this man is a better qualified candidate than the plethora of other people who kept their noses clean and actually did graduate from college.  When we stop allowing “this” type of affirmative action to take place, then maybe we won’t need any other type of affirmative action.

But we know that this type of affirmative action is never quite as offensive as the false thinking of a black person sneaking into the old boys’ network while being totally unqualified.  But we can always extend a break for those who lie their way to the top using privilege.

Privilege And Prejudice

privilege and prejudice

“the selfish people like you are the problem you think your entitled to everyone’s money just because your great great great great grand father or mother was a slave and that makes you special or entitled to something your not you and every one in this country has the same possibilities as everyone else how do i now this because i am a high school drop out that has made it in this country despite all of the one sided racist social programs grabbing at my money every day, if your so called “lower class” would put a little effort into getting out of the lower class as i and many other have done in this country they would no longer be lower class and we would not have a need for theses racial social entitlement programs that you speak so highly of WE dont need more people on more progams we need the lower class “entitlement generation to do for them selves and get off their A**es and stop dragging this counrty into the Abyss. . .”  Roger Weaver

First of all we can all agree that this is what happens when people don’t get an education.  Run on sentences, lack of punctuation and abysmal spelling.  But let’s go ahead and answer to this seriously flawed thinking individual.

This comment was taken from my blog post titled “We the sheeple.”  I called him selfish because he doesn’t think that we should even entertain health care for all.  Which is fine, but he has this me and my attitude as well as this fear that blacks are somehow begging for a health care handout.

Now how is saying we need health care for ALL me saying that black people are entitled to everyone’s money?  Or is he under some idiotic thought that ONLY blacks have no health care and that if we move to help everyone blacks will be the only folks who will benefit.

How and where does slavery have to do with health care?  See this is just more racist babble in order to somehow lessen the argument for health care as some sort of ploy by blacks to get more of these fantasy entitlement programs that really don’t and never have existed.

He wants us to believe that everyone has the same chances of success in this country.  But we all know that is the biggest fallacy around today.  This country was built on inequality and still flourishes under inequality.  He will discount the study done by Devah Pager which showed that black men with NO criminal record and a 4 year college degree got far less job offers than white men with a felony record.  But that is equality in the eyes of Roger.  And we wonder why we are still suffering under racism.

And if you read my post I have not spoken highly of any so called racial programs.  This is just more of his racism showing itself to the world.  I guess the racial programs he was speaking of were the fire department, police department and the mail system.  Thos were the only programs I spoke of and I surely didn’t know that only black people had access to those services.

This is just more evidence that even though our education system is lacking, it is even worse when you don’t go at all.  Because I think we all know or should know that the programs that I mentioned are by all measures social programs in which we all pay and we all get to benefit from them.  And how do these systems continue to work without breaking our country but somehow health care just can’t be run if it doesn’t include HMO’s and insurance giants.  Give me a break please!

And then of course this selfish racist wants to equate black with low class, lazy people; because if “we” meaning blacks would just get off our asses and get jobs we won’t have this problem.  Really?  Since the last time I checked there are millions of hard working people of ALL races who have jobs and no health care.  But let Roger tell it and only blacks are begging at the big house like country cousins for health care. This is a prime example of why our society is still in the stone ages when dealing with issues of race, social constructs and equality.

Because people like Roger would rather watch innocent families and hard working Americans die in the streets rather than pool his money with everyone else’s and provide everyone including him and his family with health care. For fear a black person might get a handout or entitlement of some sort.  His total fixation on blacks, handouts and health care leads me to believe that if there were NO blacks in this country, the US would more than likely have universal health care.

Whose Independence Day?

bostonflag

I received a comment from a fellow named Roger who wanted to chastise me on this Independence Day.  I told him that my forefathers weren’t set free on this day.  He then says – my forefathers weren’t set free on this day   black entitlement “exactly my point”.

I just have to ask, were my forefathers set free on the 4th of July, 1776?  My forefathers are African American and one set are Native American.  I don’t recall as my forefathers one of which sat in slave quarters after being stolen from his homeland and forced to work for free building a nation that decided they needed  freedom but not for the blacks they held captive.

And the other sat on a reservation after being kicked off his god given land.  And the last time I was in history class I didn’t see any Native Americans celebrating Americas freedom from Britain.  In fact I didn’t see any blacks celebrating either.  Not unless you think that serving massa a glass of cold ice tea and picking cotton in the fields for free was a celebration.

This is a prime example of white privilege at it best or worst depending on how you see it.  This Roger feels that just because I am American I have to be in awe of the same holidays as everyone else whether or not it was intended for me or not.  I guess to him I have to celebrate HIS forefathers’ freedom. While he and people like him don’t know the date of and could care less when and if my forefathers’ became free.

He wants to claim that this is somehow black entitlement to say that my forefathers’ were not freed on this day in history.   This statement is extremely idiotic at best.  How is stating a FACT feeling entitled?  Maybe the one who feels entitled is Roger.  Isn’t he feeling entitled to expect that I celebrate a holiday that doesn’t have one iota of anything to do with me or mine?  Isn’t it entitlement that makes him believe that I don’t have any choice BUT to allow him and other white people dictate to me what holiday I will and won’t acknowledge?

No Roger MY forefathers’ Both African American nor the Native American were free to neither life, liberty nor the pursuit of happiness.  But now I am supposed to run around like this holiday was inclusive for ALL Americans.  You can talk of the progress or whatever, that does not negate the fact that this holiday is a commemoration of a day that WHITE people in this country were freed.  Everyone else could only dream.  I guess you can forget that but I can’t; and simply put I WON’T.
